As editor of the hottest e-zine in Dallas, journalist Leah
Reece is determined
to get an exclusive scoop on the private 69 Club. Shrouded
in mystery, it's an
exclusive invitation-only sex club housed in a suburban
restored mansion.
Owner, Miguel Lucero, has dangerous connections and is
suspected of
smuggling people across the Mexican/U.S. border.
Leah suspects that there's more going on at the club than
stripping and she
pays for an invitation to get inside and meet with an
employee who has
agreed to an interview. At the club she finds herself
attracted to house
bodyguard Quin Perez, who invites her to view the show from
his private
observation room. She accepts his invitation, but when Quin
leaves her alone
she leaves the room to snoop around and gets caught by
Lucero. Determined
to protect her source and not to reveal her reason for being
at the club, she
lies to him and her lie is corroborated by Quin who also
wishes to avoid
trouble.
Quin knows what Leah is up to and warns her that Lucero is a
dangerous man
and she should steer clear of the club, but he won't explain
why. As the only
child of a wealthy widower, Leah has always gotten her way
and does not like
to be told she can't do something. Quin's warning tells her
that there's more
of a story than she first suspected and it fuels her
determination to uncover
it.
The dark, muscled, tattooed Quin is the tough type that
Leah's always been
attracted to and they hookup immediately. While she enjoys
sexual freedom,
Leah avoids commitments because of her tendency to attract
abusive "bad
boys." But despite his "bad boy" persona, Quin proves to be
exactly what she
needs: a loving, family-oriented gentleman who's good in
bed. As their
relationship intensifies they are unaware that Lucero is
watching their every
move and that Leah will soon become the pawn in a dangerous
business.
BAD BOY is an engaging traditional romance with lots of
suspense, action,
and hot sex. This is not one of those erotic novels with
random endless sex
acts, flat characters, and no plot. The sex is natural and
inventive; Quin and
Leah engage in sex talk and sexy play. Major and minor
characters are
multidimensional with flaws and family relations that create
enough
emotional depth for readers to care about them. For example,
Leah is still
recovering emotionally from an ex-boyfriend stalker
relationship that almost
cost her the life of a loved one. The plot flows smoothly to
a logical
conclusion. Readers will enjoy this book.
The author of Bad Girl proves that sometimes being
bad feels really good.
As the owner and
editor-in-chief of Heat, Dallas’ hottest new e-zine,
Leah Reece will do anything to get her story, even venture
into the shady underworld of 69, an erotic club which caters
to the needs of those with enough money to get anything they
want. Leah expected to get her scoop and run, but didn’t
count on getting sidetracked by a sinful encounter with a
dark and sultry bad boy.
Quin Perez is a bodyguard
at 69. He can’t afford to lose his concentration for a
second, but he can’t help lusting after the sexy editor who
stumbles across his path. Now Quin is asking Leah questions
she doesn’t want to answer—and making her do things she
never dared.
