In the Big Easy, in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina,
Natalie Severin is a freelance reporter for a local paper.
Seven months ago, Natalie buried her husband, while at the
same time, her twin brother, Nathaniel, disappeared. As
Natalie investigates a story about the smuggling of exotic
birds, she encounters Ram Montgomery, a local veterinarian.
Natalie witnesses Ram's supernatural powers when he uses
magic spells to revive a tortured dog.
Ram is a Mage who's in search of the "Phoenix," also a Mage
but who uses his powers for evil. Ram and Natalie join
forces in the quest of finding and destroying the Phoenix,
as well as finding Natalie's brother. Both Ram and Natalie
recognize the jolts and sparks of sensual heat between
them. The incredible sex they experience is further
enhanced by Ram's magic.
There's lots of excitement in the reading of PHOENIX
UNRISEN and a surprise ending. You will be riveted to your
seat for much of this story. I look forward to reading more
of Kathleen Nance's novels.
As a reporter for NONE, New Orleans News Eyes, Natalie
Severin specializes in the stories no one else will
believe. But then she stumbles across something even she
finds incredible: veterinarian Ram Montgomery. A man with
reflexes so lightning quick he can take down three armed
opponents, with healing power at the touch of his
fingertips, and with eyes that send a shot of arousal
straight through her body. Uneasy allies on the track of
thugs smuggling exotic animals into the country, Natalie
and Ram begin to sense a more dangerous ring at work in
the city. Despite her mistrust of the magic building
between them, Natalie has to put her faith in Ram or
become another victim of the cult’s terrifying secret
mission.
