Philadelphia P.I. Anne Lockheart's sister, Katie, went
missing three years ago and now Anne has a clue to her
whereabouts -- a picture of Katie in front of The Rising
Moon, a New Orleans jazz club. When Anne gets to New
Orleans, however, no one knows anything. So Anne takes a
job at the club waiting tables, hoping to learn something
that will lead her to Katie.
The owner of The Rising Moon, John Rodolfo, mysterious and
dark with a tortured soul, is everything Anne finds
attractive, though she knows nothing could ever happen
between them. After all, she's not the type sexy, drop-dead
gorgeous men are drawn to. But John seems to be. Then
again, he's blind -- or is he? And is the air of mystery
around him a sign that he's not what he seems? Why are
people disappearing, and are they tied to the rash of
animal attacks in the city during certain cycles of the
moon?
RISING MOON is the latest in Ms. Handeland's Nightcreature
series about the Jager Suchers and the monsters they hunt.
It has a great plot, wonderful characters and a setting to
die for, along with some pretty hot sex. I loved RISING
MOON and hated for it to end. You gotta pick this one up. A
very good read.
Denizens of The Big Easy know its steamy nights can hide any
number of sins and secrets. Private-eye Anne Lockhart is
counting on it. Her life has been in a holding pattern ever
since her sister Katie disappeared without a trace…but when
a clue leads Anne to a jazz club in the French Quarter,
everything changes. Rising Moon’s proprietor, John Rodolfo,
is mysterious in his own right, a gifted musician who
reaches deep into Anne’s soul and whose mere presence taps
into desires she can’t afford to indulge...
By going undercover at the Rising Moon, Anne can get close
to people who know what goes on after dark—people like John,
whose nocturnal disappearances are more than a little
suspicious. But unlocking John’s secrets is harder than Anne
anticipated. What’s far too easy is surrendering to him. And
now someone—or something—is stalking the innocent and the
guilty, and waiting for Anne’s next move...
