Libby Malin | Tips on How to Write a Comedic Novel
April 7, 2010
The Deconstruction Of Humorous Fiction In A Reactionary Postmodern World, Or From Chaos To Conformity: How To Write The Comedic Novel When I  Read More...

Pseudonym: Libby Sternberg.

Libby Malin is a native of Baltimore, Maryland, where Loves Me, Loves Me Not takes place. She is the author of two critically-acclaimed teen mysteries (written under the name Libby Sternberg), also set in Baltimore and featuring amateur detective Bianca Balducci.

The first of these, Uncovering Sadie's Secrets, was nominated for the prestigious Edgar award by the Mystery Writers of America, chosen by Brodart as a small press gem, and included on a list of Young Adult Top 40 Fiction Picks for 2003 by the Pennsylvania School Librarians Association.

Its sequel, Finding the Forger, has been praised by Kirkus and others. Angela McQuay of Mystery Morgue calls it "simply a delight to read. Bianca is one of the funniest characters to come out of young adult fiction in years, and her inner monologue is impossible to resist."

Ms Malin holds two degrees from a music conservatory and sang in operas and concerts before turning to writing and moving to Vermont. She is an occasional commentator on Vermont Public Radio, an education reform activist, a member of the Vermont Commission on Women, and a wife and mother.
