Nikki Skies
Nikki Skies is a writer, performer, educator originally from Kansas City, Mo. She now resides in Los Angeles where her words transcend across barriers of color lines, religion, and politics earning her the privilege of performing in a vast array of events and venues. Nikki has graced the majority of LA’s popular nightclubs and served as activist at various community events and fund-raisers for Doctors without Borders, Women’s Cancer Research, NAACP, and AIDS Project LA to name a few. Nikki lent her voice as narrator for the PBS documentary chronicling and her words have been heard on BET’s Lyric Café and on radio air waves across the country.
For her short story book, “Mississipi Window Cracks”, critics have said, "Sensitive and audacious... Nikki's storytelling is full of human tales with simple truths." Formally educated at Grambling State University for her B.A. and Howard University for her M.F.A., Nikki also facilitates literary workshops for students in elementary to college. Nikki missions her art to “put voice to women and children and the holistic liberation for people of color.”
