Even though her cousin asks her to uproot her life and relocate to St. Paul, Minnesota, Rachael isn't as upset about it as some people might be: her cousin, Michael, is the leader of the Wyndham Pack of werewolves, and his requests are closer to politely phrased commands. She is to talk to the vampires and keep an ear to the ground for a werewolf wanting war. Besides, surely people in St. Paul need assistance doing their taxes. Her move is made a lot better with the introduction of Edward, a dorky sweetie who has his own secrets. Her life is made ever-weirder with her meeting with the vampire queen, Betsy Taylor.
Note to self: never interrupt Smoothie Time! WOLF AT THE DOOR is brilliant. Long-term fans will love meeting Betsy Taylor, and new readers will want to read everything MaryJanice Davidson has ever written, just on principle. Light, fun, and with a fantastic/interesting/new reason behind the actions of the antagonist, WOLF AT THE DOOR is an excellent read and should be on every one's to-read list.
The howlingly good spin-off of the Undead series from the New York Times bestselling author. Rachel, a werewolf/accountant, is asked to keep one eye on Vampire Queen Betsy Taylor and the other peeled for a rogue werewolf who's itching to start a war. But her attention is mostly on a sexy, mysterious stranger she wishes she could trust.
