Romance Contemporary | Holiday

Worst. Day. Ever. After Lyssa Barnett’s sister tricks her into reprising her role at Snowflake Valley's annual children's party, she doesn’t think anything can be worse than squeezing into her too-small elf costume. Then tall, dark, and way too handsome Nick Tavlock shows up to play Santa...and an unexpected storm leaves them snowbound in the isolated lodge.

The last thing Nick wants is to spend a cozy Christmas Eve with a trio of kids and the woman who dumped him. But as much as Lyssa frustrates him, he can't stop thinking about her. And soon, he's fighting very un-Santa-like thoughts of kissing a certain sexy Miss Elf under the mistletoe. As Nick starts to fall for Lyssa all over again, he knows it will take nothing short of a miracle to have Lyssa in his arms on Christmas Day.

Re: Snowbound with Mr. Wrong

Fav holiday memories... I remember always watching out the window waiting for my grandparents to arrive. The moment I saw them I would have the biggest smile on my face and run outside to greet them. I miss that!

My favorite holiday memory is watching my grandchildren open their gifts. I don't get to see them every year because they live in OK and we live in FL. The smiles on their faces when they see what Santa brought them is priceless!!

Colleen - what a special memory! That's one of the things I love about the holidays - they bring us together with people we may not see too often.
(
Barbara White Daille 10:13am November 19, 2016)

Bonnie - they say Christmas is for kids, and I'm not sure I buy into that completely. ;) But it is true that seeing a child's excitement really makes the day complete. Hope this is a year you'll get to be with the family!

My favorite Christmas memories always involve just being with family and observing our traditions. We love decorating the tree. We have a collection of ornaments that represent family milestones, trips, hobbies, etc.

My favorite holiday memory is celebrating with the family,
storytelling, opening gifts, meals and enjoying precious time
together.
(
Sharon Berger 11:37am November 19, 2016)

Cheryl - we have an assortment of ornaments like that, too. And I don't know about your family, but every year we tend to put the same ornaments in the same places. Talk about traditions! lol
(
Barbara White Daille 12:21pm November 19, 2016)

Sharon - you've nailed the best thing about the holidays! :)
(
Barbara White Daille 12:22pm November 19, 2016)

Same ornaments every year, plus one exclusively ours...listening to A Christmas Carol on the record player while decorating the tree...incomparable.

My favorite holiday memory has to be last year. As a
child, we were super poor and never really had Christmas.
As a result, I came to dread the holiday every year. I
always felt extremely guilty if someone got me a gift.
Well, last year, my husband and I were getting ready to
move cross country, so we said no gifts. We only had a
TV, two camping chairs, and a small table left in the
house, since the movers had already come. When I woke up,
there as a line of presents by the fireplace. He decided
to make up for my bad experiences. He started with
"baby's first gift" all the way up to "a gift for my
wife." We're talking baby, toddler, child, pre-teen and
teen. I cried because it was the sweetest thing in the
world. So extremely thoughtful.
(
Megan Harris 6:04pm November 19, 2016)

Kathleen - that's a great tradition! We listen to Christmas music while we decorate and then afterward, when we sit with hot chocolate and admire the tree.
(
Barbara White Daille 8:05pm November 19, 2016)

Oh, Megan - what a sweetheart - he's definitely a keeper!
I'm in tears just reading that story, so I can imagine how you must have felt. Thanks for sharing with us.

We strapped a rocking horse to the top of a jeep and drove 6 hours so my nephew would have it Christmas morning. That horse bucked and bounced the whole way, we had tons of thumbs up and little kids waving at us as we drove.
(
Angela Daffern 10:06pm November 19, 2016)

I just remember spending time with family.
(
Pam Howell 7:06am November 20, 2016)

That's a great memory, Angela! I'll bet you added a lot of Christmas cheer to those travelers' day, too. And I'm sure your nephew was thrilled. Hope you took plenty of pictures!
(
Barbara White Daille 3:53pm November 20, 2016)

That's the best part, Pam, isn't it?
(

I always remember the whole family sitting around the Christmas Tree eating homemade chocolate chip cookies as we allopened our presents.
(
Carol Woodruff 7:32pm November 20, 2016)

I guess just ONE of my favorites was always lining up at the top of the stairs on Christmas morning waiting for my Mom & Dad to tell us it was OK to run downstairs and into the living room to see what Santa had brought during the night.

Carol - I would love to have been part of your family on Christmas. I love chocolate-chip cookies! :)
(
Barbara White Daille 3:42pm November 21, 2016)

That brought a smile for me, Nancy. We didn't have stairs, but we had to wait in the hallway leading from the bedrooms until we got the all-clear. It was a moment filled with anticipation, wasn't it?
(
Barbara White Daille 3:44pm November 21, 2016)

Aww, that's a very precious memory, Patricia!

Hi, Peggy - nice to see you here! No, I never heard that memory before. How wonderful of your grandma and the social worker to make your Christmas a happy one. The holidays are always special for kids, and I'm sure that year it was a super-special one for you.

And what a beautiful tradition for you to pass on to your family!

(
Anna Speed 11:34am November 23, 2016)

When I was eight years old the apartment building we lived in caught on fire. My parents ran into the building and was telling everyone to get out of the building. Our parents took forever and we started to worry. This happen right before the holidays. We lost everything but everyone made it out alive. People we didn't even know brought us some clothes, food and a strange white Xmas tree. One of many Christmas memories.
(
Deb Pelletier 10:15pm November 23, 2016)

My favorite memory is our first Christmas back in the states with our families after being overseas for four years. Christmas just didn't seem the same on a Pacific Island.

(
Barbara White Daille 11:00am November 24, 2016)

Deb - I'm sure that made it one of your most memorable Christmas mornings ever.

That's awful to hear about the fire, but I'm glad to see that so much good came from it and that you received so much support from both friends and strangers.
(
Barbara White Daille 11:03am November 24, 2016)

Delta - the first couple of Christmases in my memory were also spent on an island. I still remember the shock of our first Christmas stateside when we had freezing weather and snow!
(

Nancy - those are the best, aren't they! Hope you're getting to spend the day today with family, too.
