Patsy Lee O'Malley has always been the pushover in the
family, so when she breaks her ankle and needs someone to
help mobilize her four children, her family decides on the
most unlikely person. Unable to stand up for herself, she
lets the gorgeous man take over her house.
Zeke Townley is a loner with a bad case of boredom. While
visiting a former bandmate he gets roped into helping out
Patsy Lee. In fact, he even volunteered. But while he
entertains her children and tries to get closer, Patsy
Lee's self-image scares her into thinking he doesn't care.
Zeke has a knack for Patsy Lee. He understands her
children, feeds them well, even cleans like a housemaid,
and cares for her animals, but he seems to be looking for
something more. And that something more is what Patsy Lee
is afraid of.
Ms. Corgiat has created a great family and an even more
likable handsome beau for the talented heroine. The two
were made for each other, and I loved the intimacy that the
two gained from their forced weeks together. The setting is
perfect and the house even more perfect. A thoroughly
lovely book.
Ever since Patsy Lee O'Malley's husband died, she's been
solely responsible for four children, a multitude of
animals, and a run-down farmhouse in Cordelia, Missouri.
There's never been enough time to pursue her own artistic
dreams, or even to slow down. That is until a retired
musician, Zeke Townley, comes to her rescue when she breaks
her ankle. Taking care of her - and her countless
responsibilities - is no easy task, but it reminds Zeke of
the joys of having a family to call his own. Soon, both
come to realize that they have reached a crossroads. And
together they'll have to figure out which way to turn next.
