HARD LOVE picks up right after HARD LIMIT leaves off. Blake
and Erica are on their honeymoon, enjoying their time off,
hiding away from the outside world, and enjoying each other.
Just when their troubles seem to be behind them, scandal
surrounding would-be Governor Daniel Fitzgerald's election
threatens their new found peace.
Blake and Erica are hit with a dose of reality when the
police and FBI knock on their door. The authorities
accuse Blake of tampering with the voting machines
since it is the code he created over 10 years ago for the banking industry. Blake
has a
feeling that Trevor is behind this, but he is once again
reluctant to do anything because of the friendship he had
with his brother.
Blake is faced with criminal charges because of the
transgressions of his hacking past that he has no wish to
relive. With Blake's freedom at stake and their future
hanging in the balance, Erica is determined to clear
his name. But when Blake defies the authorities and refuses
to seek out the truth, their world slowly begins to unravel.
Now more than ever, Erica wants to ensure Blake will be by
her side in their future life together. Knowing Blake
doesn't want to involve Trevor, Erica calls in a dangerous
favor in order to find Trevor and help clear Blake's name
and bring him home. Erica's big break comes in the most
unlikely of help.
HARD LOVE is the fifth book that concludes Meredith Wild's
Hacker series. I do recommend reading this series from the
beginning. There is just so much the reader will miss and
lose out on if not. Blake and Erica have gone through so much to get
where they are today. They have faced challenges to their
businesses, to their relationships, and even to their lives.
Their relationship faces one more challenge that will truly
test how deep their love for each other really is.
HARD LOVE was the absolute perfect conclusion to Meredith
Wild's captivating and utterly phenomenal Hacker series. It
is always hard to finish a series that have taken you
through the characters incredible journey. This is a story
that stays with the reader even after it is over. This is
the only series that I have read from Meredith Wild, and it
certainly will not be the last. Meredith Wild has quickly
become one of my favorite authors. I can't wait to see if
there will be a spin-off series using the secondary
characters like Simone, Ali, or Heath.
