Non-Fiction

Whether you are young or old, you will enjoy this adorable book about baby animals and their mothers. ZOOBORNS MOTHERLY LOVE is a wonderful book that brings readers gorgeous pictures of mother and baby animals along with a short description and information on each animal. I really liked that alongside the information and pictures it also listed which category that the animal fell in, whether it was endangered or at a low risk, and any of the categories in between. There is so much to enjoy in this little book.

The beautiful pictures capture some heartwarming moments of motherly love; they truly do represent the title to the fullest. Children and animal lovers of all ages will enjoy this book. It is also a nice way to help teach and introduce younger children to the problems that some animals face today. Many animals are becoming extinct at an alarming rate these days and a book like this helps people see just what is being lost. Animals are some of this world's greatest treasures and it is a shame that we do not protect them as we should. It was nice to see that a portion of the proceeds of this book go to a conservation fund.

Inside ZOOBORNS MOTHERLY LOVE readers can see the love and tenderness that exists between a baby animal and its mother, and hopefully recognizing that the love and care is no different from us humans. Not only does this book entertain but it also educates. The education is done in a fun way that lets readers connect with the animals and enjoy the book not just lecture readers on the decline of animals. It makes you want to help. Hopefully as you enjoy these beautiful pictures you will begin to think about the animals in our world and their plight.

SUMMARY

An adorable installment in the ZooBorns series, ZooBorns Motherly Love celebrates the special bond between exotic animal mothers and their babies from every corner of the globe: “Animal babies make conservation cute,” raves The New York Times. ZooBorns Motherly Love is all about mothers and their babies. Photographs that capture the power of a mother’s love consistently attract explosive interest on the wildly popular ZooBorns website, and now, for the first time, they have been collected in this book. ZooBorns Motherly Love explores the special role mothers play in our lives: they do more for us than they do for themselves, worry about us more than we’ll ever know, and love us more than anyone else can…no matter their species. By highlighting these adorable and recognizable moments, from a sea otter cradling her newborn pup to a lioness gently tugging her cub back to her side, ZooBorns connects you to the animals featured here and builds awareness for the challenges these species face in the wild. Remember, these babies are much more than just irresistible furry faces. They are ambassadors for their species, helping educate about conservation while they entertain. In fact, 10 percent of all ZooBorns’ revenue from the sale of these books goes directly to the Association of Zoos and Aquariums’ Conservation Endowment Fund. This book is sure to put a smile on your face and warm your heart.
