"Eva pretends pal Trevor's her wedding date - and he's so hot!"

Fresh Fiction Review

Pretending She's His

Romance Erotica Sensual | New Adult | Novella / Short Story

Eva's attending a close gathering of friends for a wedding at a luxurious Georgia resort. She's less than delighted that her previous boyfriend Luke is also present - he dumped her, and they haven't spoken since. With a mischievous good friend from childhood, Trevor, she concocts a plan to pretend she and Trevor are now an item, just to stop macho Luke from coming on to her in the close quarters. The best laid plans go oft awry...

PRETENDING SHE'S HIS makes an unusual situation for Trevor, who gets into dress uniform for the big day. He's known Eva so long, and they've never acted seductive around each other. But now Eva sits on his lap and he responds by kissing her neck at the table.... is that too much? It's hard to know when to stop, with Luke glowering at them from across the table. Trevor has always been popular with the ladies, so he's never settled with anyone. Real life catches up with him however and the question is whether Eva will be there for him in her turn.

This is an erotic novella without much other content, so there is a lot of teasing talk about attractive bodies and hot feelings; a pleasant fantasy read for adults. I found the start a little hard to get into as a lot of people were presented at once - the author had previously written about some of them such as tough Eva - and I was never sure why Luke had been invited to the wedding. Presumably if I'd read an earlier story in the Hard Feelings series I would know, and the author didn't think to introduce everyone to new readers. There is some strong language and I would have liked more description of the locality; a resort with a pool could be anywhere. PRETENDING SHE'S HIS by Kelsie Leverich is easy reading hot romance which does just leave me thinking that it is a pity a woman with such good friends needed to pretend she had a date.

SUMMARY

New York Times bestselling author Kelsie Leverich “serves up fun, sexy and hot” (Flirty and Dirty Book Blog), in her new Hard Feelings novella, where a tempting little lie turns into so much more…

Eva Riley is the maid of honor at her best friend’s wedding and it just so happens that her ex is the best man. Eva’s a straight shooter and definitely not the damsel-in-distress type. But with her pride on the line and her ex’s heart on his sleeve, there might not be enough champagne in the world to get her through this weekend.

Trevor Owens may be one hell of a good friend to Eva, but he’s always wanted to get the fiery redhead between the sheets. So he swoops in and offers a solution to her ex problem: they can pretend to be together—just for the weekend. But when their little game of make-believe is over, will they be able to tell what’s real and what’s only pretend?
