Okay, so just to get everything out on the table, I love
absolutely everything
related to Wizard of Oz. everything about Oz is mesmerizing
and addictive
to me. Ever since I got my first glimpse of that yellow
brick road, I have
been obsessed. So it's not much of a stretch that I adore
the Wicked books.
In this newest and final book of the series, Oz is in a
state of civil unrest.
Munchkin land and the Emerald City are at war as an invasion
attempt of
Muchkinland begins. The Lion is actually a Wanted fugitive
and Glinda is
locked up in her own house. And Dorothy is now in town! When
did things
become so complicated? And it hasn't even really gotten
started...
OUT OF OZ is the last book in the Wicked series and is just
as amazing as
the first. The story held within these pages is intoxicating
to say the least.
Oz is such an outstandingly beautiful and vivid world that
it is impossible to
not fall in love with it and the people who populate this
enchanting land.
Gregory Maguire consistently delivers fun, fantastical and
page-turning
tales, especially when it comes to the stories out of Oz.
I'm so happy to
have experienced these highly imaginative novels but also
sad to see it
end.
I would easily recommend this series for fans of the movie
or fantasy fan in
general!
The marvelous land of Oz is knotted with social unrest: The Emerald City is mounting an invasion of Munchkinland, Glinda is under house arrest, and the Cowardly Lion is on the run from the law. And look who’s knocking at the door. It’s none other than Dorothy. Yes, that Dorothy. Amid all this chaos, Elphaba’s granddaughter, the tiny green baby born at the close of Son of a Witch, has come of age. Now, Rain will take up her broom in an Oz wracked by war.
