Romance Suspense

CIA operative Max Duncan has endured two years of complete hell somewhere in the jungles of Thailand, held in captivity for the sole purpose of mind control experiments. His best friend, Rocco, along with other CIA friends, has never stopped trying to find Max.

Using information gleaned from reliable sources, Rocco's boss, Travis, sends in his men to rescue Max and another operative, Dante. When they reach the secret compound, they find Max already battling the guards. Soon, the guards are taken out and Max and another man, Taz, are rescued. Dante is not there. The group tries to bring along the scientist who has been running the experiments, but a guard comes along and in the shootout, Max is shot and the scientist escapes.

Max and Taz are taken to a hospital in San Diego under false names. The famous Dr. Winchette is called in to treat the men. Rocco, who was a previous captive and victim of mind-control experiments, asks Dr. Winchette to bring Dr. Erin Houston along. She was able to successfully treat Rocco so that he could return to his previous life. Winchette reluctantly agrees. Taz escapes. While Dr. Winchette is looking for him, Max manages to escape, as well, before the staff heavily sedates him per Dr. Winchette's orders. Max can read minds. Having read Winchette and Erin's minds, Max knows he needs to get away and find Taz. The two men were able to keep their sanity by mentally communicating with each other and vowed that once they escaped, they would meet in a specified location. But Max can't remember where this is.

Erin is a reluctant hostage at first, only because she thinks Max needs the medical help she can't give in the field. She can't explain the connection she feels with Max, and images in her mind of what she wants to do with Max make her blush. Erin quickly discovers she wants and needs Max to be a part of her life.

When Max tries to remember his past, he experiences horrific headaches, which increase in intensity the more he tries to remember. Max discovers that thinking of touching Erin grounds him and keeps the headaches at bay. While Max and Erin move around the U.S., someone new is tracking him from an implanted chip. Plans are in motion to capture both men detrimental to the continued success of the mind control experiments.

Cate Noble creates an instant stake in DEADLY SEDUCTION with well-crafted characters who deftly draw the reader into the plot. We are thrilled as the plot unfolds and the risks increase. DEADLY SEDUCTION seduces the thriller reader succinctly.

SUMMARY

Abducted CIA operative Max Duncan returns to his home turf - and into a web of intrigue with the only woman who can help him salvage what's left of his life. 'Think only of the mission - or suffer the consequences'. This has been Max Duncan's reality for two years. His thoughts are not his own, and any attempt to exert his will results in excruciating pain. Then his friends stage a rescue he never believed possible. Finally 'safe' at home, Max still can't escape the prison of his own mind...Dr. Erin Houston, called to California to help Max, would rather be investigating her father's death, a 'suicide' she's convinced was actually murder. But when she and Max end up on the run, their time together sparks a connection between the mind-control experiments her father was fighting to stop and Max's suffering...Now, as Erin and Max race to expose the truth, someone with a different agenda is closing in - and will stop at nothing to prove them dead wrong...
