KITSUNE by Lila Dubois
The legend that found me
Joe is your everyday average Joe fighting his heritage, his
language, his culture, and his life. Yet when Joe is
confronted with his past by a woman in his present, he is
forced to confront all that he has built his adult life
around. Joe must fight his lust for the woman with his
denial of himself.
Joe's story ends much as any other, just another miserable
day, however this day is the one day of the year that marks
the day of his Japanese mother's death. Joe has struggled
with losing every part of himself since that day, from
changing his name to dating blonde bombshells. When Joe
wakes up to a naked Japanese woman calling him Takai, his
memory lapses and he has no idea how this house guest moved
her way into his life.
Sakura is a legend come to life, for she is one of the
kami, or a servant of the gods. As a kitsune, Sakura is
gifted with powers to aide her in bringing Takai back to
his heritage. Finding herself in the "real" world for the
first time, Sakura soon finds that by meeting all of
Takai's needs, she can also feed her appetites as well.
Will Sakura be able to bring Takai back to his roots? Or
will she lose her heart to the man known as Joe?
Dubois is able to bring Japanese language, culture, and
folklore to life in this steamy story of two people trying
to find themselves in each other.
On the anniversary of Joe’s mother’s death he breaks his own
rules and has a one night stand with an exotic stranger.
Sakura is unlike any woman Joe’s ever met: smart, beautiful,
and very quirky. That’s because Sakura isn’t like any woman
he’s know before--she’s not human. Sakura’s a kitsune, a
mystical Japanese fox who can take on the form of a woman,
on a mission: help Joe discover his Japanese heritage and
make peace with his past. They didn’t say anything about
falling in love with him…
