Howard Roughan
Howard Roughan’s debut novel, The Up and Comer, was bought by Warner Books with only 88 pages written. Foreign rights were sold in more than a dozen countries, and the film rights were optioned by Michael Douglas.
After the release of his second novel, The Promise of a Lie, Roughan partnered with best-selling author James Patterson to write Honeymoon, which was named The International Thriller of the Year in 2005 and spent four consecutive weeks at #1 on The New York Times Bestseller List. Eight more titles with Patterson have followed, including Second Honeymoon, Sail, Truth or Die, and Don't Blink. In 2018 their collaboration, Murder Games, was adapted into the CBS television series, Instinct, starring Alan Cumming as Dr. Dylan Reinhart. Two more books featuring Reinhart have followed, Killer Instinct and Steal. Fresh Fiction named Steal as one of its Fresh Picks of 2022.
Before becoming an author, Roughan was an advertising creative director with Bates Worldwide and J. Walter Thompson. He is a graduate of Dartmouth College. Roughan's latest short story, "The Cabots & The Cromwells," is available on Amazon Kindle and the Kindle app.
