Emily Herron Nelson is a graduate of the University of Georgia and holds a Bachelors and a Masters degree in Social Work. She practiced as a Licensed Social Worker in the state of Georgia. Her expertise is in child abuse, crisis counseling, and forensic interviewing of children. Emily has experience working at a Child Advocacy Center, where she walked child abuse victims through the process of describing their abuse, beginning the healing process, and tracking them through the legal system. In addition, she offered counseling to the victims and testified on their behalf in court proceedings. She also has worked at a teenage crisis shelter, and at an early childhood intervention center for children with special needs.

Emily currently lives in Delray Beach, Florida with her husband, Andy and two small children, Bradford and Charles. She is actively involved at Spanish River Church, where her husband is the youth pastor. She also belongs to ACFW.

Emily has led Bible studies for youth and young adults and participated in several mission trips including trips to Honduras, Peru, New York, and West Virginia. During her time in Peru, Emily worked alongside a mission organization with the Street Boys and was impacted greatly by their stories.
