Piero Ribelli
Piero Ribelli was born in Padenghe sul Garda, a small town in Northern Italy. At age 27, he left Italy, moved to the U.S., taught himself English, and started a new life as a professional photographer. Ranging from travel, portraiture and photojournalism, his photographs have appeared in magazines around the world, including Jazz Express in England, Esquire in Japan, Skywritings in Jamaica, Il Mondo in Italy and The New York Times in the United States. In 1996 he produced his first photographic book, Jah Pickney, Children of Jamaica. Exhibitions of his work have been staged in Italy, Jamaica and New York, including an exhibit at the United Nations sponsored by UNICEF. He is proud have visited all 50 states by the age of 50 and is even prouder of having become an American citizen while working on 50 Main Street.
