Author and architectural salvage expert Amy R. Hughes is an editor at This Old House magazine, where she writes about creative ways to repurpose reclaimed house parts. She comes by her passion honestly, having grown up with parents who dedicated themselves to restoring old homes. Today her New York City apartment, which she shares with her husband and daughter, is filled with many of the unique pieces featured in this book.
