Betsy Horvath
Betsy Horvath is an author without a sense of direction and an unrepentant sap. Betsy was raised on MGM musicals, old skool Harlequin romances, and Nancy Drew. As a child, she was known to cry at the beginning of the television musical version of Cinderella (the one starring Leslie Ann Warren), because she knew it would be over soon and she’d have to wait another year to see it again (no DVRs back in those dark ages). Although her tastes have always been far from literary, and she was scarred for life from forced consumption of Animal Farm in high school, it wasn’t until after the completion of her B.A. in English that Betsy took at good look at her bookshelves. She realized that although she owned everything Nora Roberts had ever published, she hadn’t picked up anything by William Faulkner or James Joyce in years (and then only under duress). An epiphany ensued. Once the scales fell from her eyes, Betsy came out as a genre author to family, friends, and colleagues. Her announcement was met with a variety of reactions, some more sarcastic than others. Betsy has chosen to blithely ignore nay-sayers and continue moving on the path towards her dreams. Betsy lives in quiet, tasteful, splendor at the Palatial Horvath Estate, where she is surrounded by four cats and far too much technology.
