David Suisman
David Suisman earned his B.A. at Yale University and his M.A., M.Phil., and Ph.D. at Columbia University. He is currently assistant professor of history at the University of Delaware. In May 2009, his first book, Selling Sounds: The Commercial Revolution in American Music, was published by Harvard University Press, and in December, Sound in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction, a collection co-edited with Susan Strasser, will be published by the University of Pennsylvania Press. His articles and reviews have appeared in the Journal of American History, The Believer, Journal of Southern History, and Souls: A Critical Journal of Black Politics, Culture, and Society. He is also an occasional disc jockey at freeform radio station WFMU. He lives in Philadelphia.
