Bobby Haas
Robert Haas has a passion for Africa that has found
expression in four books documenting the continent's
wildlife. For his new National Geographic book, Through the
Eyes of the Gods: An Aerial Vision of Africa, Haas
crisscrossed the continent, hanging out of helicopters and
light planes to capture an array of spectacular images
offering a unique view of Africa's landscapes, animals and
people. Photography is Haas's parallel career. He is also
chairman and co-founder of Haas Wheat & Partners, a Dallas-
based private investment firm that has completed a series
of noteworthy investment transactions, involving such
household names as 7-UP. Haas is a committed
conservationist, who has received a United Nations
Environment Programme Award for his contributions on behalf
of endangered species and the environment.
