Sean O’Rourke is minding his own business when he sees the most amazing sight and of all places a funeral. Little does he know that she is MOB PRINCESS Nicolina Tremblay – a relative of the O’Malley mob family from Boston. And trouble for the O’Rourke’s. Sometimes life just gives out a surprise that turns out to be the best thing to ever happen to you.
MOB PRINCESS is the third of Sabine Barclay’s O’Rourke Brotherhood series and features Sean and Nicolina’s story. It is a very steamy hot mafia romance as is Ms. Barclay’s forte. Sean is in the thick of the mob life and though he had seen his brother and his boss find love he didn’t expect to find someone he wanted to bring into his world. Nicolina has a strange dynamic with her own family and knows the ins and outs of that world and what goes with navigating through all the rules and dealing with the dangers and intrigue. The main members of her side of the family include her brother Ewan, her bodyguard Justin and her ex-fiancé Colt. These are characters that you get to know throughout the story, and you will have to choose your own opinion of them.
In all the books by Ms. Barclay the characters, dialogue and action are very vivid. Sometimes showing the family life that is very normal and other times showing the violent side that is just an accepted part of the world they were born into. She gives a realistic picture of the world these characters live in, and you can almost believe they are real.
Of all the other mob, mafia, bratva, etc. books by Ms. Barclay, in my opinion, MOB PRINCESS is the darkest – with the darkness coming from the female lead. I found it interesting that though the wives and women of the various made men are tough as nails, they usually only move from light to dark when necessary for the family. Nicolina seemed very comfortable in the dark. Not a bad thing, just different. Where the careers for the women could take them out of the darker side of the world readers don’t get to see Nicolina at work.
Something that I think is cute or just maybe very possessive of the men, they come up with nicknames for their wives that no one else is allowed to use. Sean calls Nicolina – Lina while others use Nikki, Finn calls his wife Althea – Thea, while others use Ally and Dillan (the family boss) uses Greta for his wife who is Margreg (the Irish form of Margaret) and the family uses Mair. Also, this is a basic love at first sight and as a firm believer that this is possible, I had no problem with this side of the story.
MOB PRINCESS will give fans a good escape with action, intrigue and steam. All that we expect of Ms. Barclay and more.
I’ll push her to her limits with more pleasure than she can dream of.
Then I’ll hold her when we’re done.
I won’t let anything get in the way.
Mob Princess is an interconnecting, standalone Dark Mafia Romance with a HEA and no cliffhanger. It contains extra-steamy scenes that will make your toes curl and your granny blush. The O'Rourke Brotherhood is a six-book series that’ll keep you warm at night.
