In a world of monsters, there’s just one rule a thief has to keep in mind: don’t break the Monster’s Treaty.Kierse’s latest job has her wondering if the home belongs to a monster. After all, there’s not even a security system in place and everyone knows that New York City is now filled with dangerous beings, both human and monster. Breaking into the Holly Library was easy… but what Kierse uncovers changes her life. Now she finds herself working for one of the monsters, wondering if Graves is as horrible as she feared. And can she work with Graves, even knowing he's had centuries of experience at manipulating and playing games?
I can not help but love Graves! I mean, he has a cat so how much of a monster can he truly be? His history is slowly revealedand there are things I still have questions about but oh my, is his story ever intriguing! Kierse took a little longer for me to warm up to as we initially see her as a gifted thief, but not the heart she has for her friends. I love the bond she has with Ethan and Gen! As we start to see glimpses of her past, her initial hardness starts to make sense as she has had one heck of a rough time. Her strength and will to survive are amazing!
THE WREN IN THE HOLLY LIBRARY is the first book in The Oak and Holly Cycleand wow, what a phenomenal start! There is so much to love in this book as we see friendships and loyalty surviving in a world where monsters and cruelty are the norm.K.A. Linde crafts an engaging world combining urban fantasy and mythology full of fascinating and morally grey characters. If you love romantasy, then THE WREN IN THE HOLLY LIBRARY is just what you are looking for as you will want to savor every moment in K.A. Linde's world. I can not wait to see what happens next in the series- highly recommended!
A street thief and a monster are trapped in a library together; The Wren and the Holly Library reminds us of Beauty and the Beast in all the best ways and kicks off a new romantasy series perfect for fans of Uprooted by Naomi Novik.

In the wake of that carnage, the Monster Treaty was created. A truce...of sorts.
But tonight, Kierse—a gifted and fearless thief—will break that treaty. She’ll enter the Holly Library...not knowing it’s the home of a monster.
