It may not have been love at first sight, yet romance is definitely in the air! Who is this country gentleman who spoke so well, but did as a woman asked? Drat! Why is no one around who could properly introduce them? The beautiful Miss Henrietta Stern has a dilemma and turns to her good friends for help to solve this mystery.
For Nate Meadows, Viscount Fotherby, seeing this beautiful and caring woman calmly pull out a weapon to stop the ruffian’s attack is an eyeopener. She is the epitome of the kind of forward-looking lady he vows he wants to marry, but who is she?
THE MOST ELIGIBLE BRIDE IN LONDON is the third book in historical romance writer Ella Quinn’s latest Lords of London series. With her remarkable skill as a storyteller, Quinn instantly pulls us into the dilemma faced by Nate and Henrietta as they strive to find out more about the other, and then are shocked by the answers. Is he really the villain that still makes her pregnant sister Dottie boil with anger? Is she really the most sought-after lady starting second season with so many gents seeking her attention? How can he possibly get past her family members’ objections?
While it is very easy to see where the storyline is going, what makes Quinn’s THE MOST ELIGIBLE BRIDE IN LONDON so entertaining are the reactions of the characters, and their various consultations with friends, family (especially the family Matriarchs), and staff as they manipulate in the aiding and abetting of the romance. While the novel is intriguing as a stand-alone romance, there are quite a few characters in the storyline, so having read some of the previous books in Worthingtons and other related books would help make for a richer read and give some context.
THE MOST ELIGIBLE BRIDE IN LONDON is a very amusing and romantic story that is sure to be a hit with Quinn’s many fans or anyone who enjoys historical romance. I, for one, can hardly wait until the next book in the series is out! Meanwhile, lots to read in the backlist to enjoy!
Mistakes happen, to be sure. Rarely are those mistakes as unfortunate as the one made by Nathanael, Viscount Fotherby, when he abducted the now Lady Merton to save his friend from marriage. Nate has been trying to make amends ever since, leaving behind his self-centered ways to fulfill his duties—and that includes finding a wife of his own. One woman sparks his interest above all others—a lady he helped when she was rescuing a child. Alas, there is a devilish complication . . .
Miss Henrietta Stern, Lady Merton’s younger sister, is intrigued by the stranger who comes to her aid—until she learns his identity. Nate’s stunt could have ruined her sister’s reputation, and her family may never forgive him. With beauty, connections, and a sizeable dowry, Henrietta has plenty of admirers. Yet no other suitor quickens her pulse quite like Nate does. Her heart insists that the gentleman has changed for the better. But can a renowned scoundrel possibly prove himself to be the perfect husband?
