Delta Force "Hutch" Hutchinson has finally made it home, reluctantly and he thinks without the people that mean the most to him. His team and his career are gone and his disability is supposedly all in his head. He is mute ... shrapnel damage. So he goes home to enjoy CHRISTMAS AT TWILIGHT. Once there he finds that Twilight, Texas has an added occupant. A sexy as hell, pepper spraying woman living in his house.
Meredith Sommers has been going by the name Jane, on the run with her young son, from her psycho ex-husband. She has been living with Ashley Hutchinson, not realizing that the house is really her brother's. Now Ashley has taken off to Acapulco leaving her daughter in Jane's care. And once he learns her secret, he will do everything in his power to protect her and her little boy because despite everything he has been through he can still feel love.
CHRISTMAS AT TWILIGHT is a fast, hard actioned, deeply emotional read. For those looking for a fluffy, feel good Christmas read ... this is not it. Yes it is Christmas time and yes miracles seem to occur but the depth of the emotion in this story is hard edged and gripping with a lot of unexpected twists and turns. Both Hutch and Meredith (Jane) have gone through a lot and together they will go through more before the final shocking act that author Lori Wilde sends our way. I did not see the ending coming quite the same way as Ms. Wilde did so it was a surprise and I will warn you a little sad. This is the first of Ms. Wilde's Twilight, Texas novels I have had the opportunity to read and after this I can assure you it will not be the last.
