As a big fan of Sherrilyn Kenyon and this series I was excited to read this story. This book is an intriguing and intense read. BORN OF FURY by Sherrilyn Kenyon gives us the story of Hauk and Sumi. Hauk has been a fixture in this series and it was nice to finally get to read his story. I loved seeing the warmth and emotions that he keeps inside and away from others. Sumi brings out the love and shows us just how wonderful Hauk truly is underneath his gruff exterior. Sumi is a great woman who loves with all her heart and is more than ready to fight with and for Hauk. Watching the two connect and their romance build made for a wonderful read. There is a lot of banter in this book after all it is almost seven hundred pages long and action can only happen so much, although there is just as much action as talking. I enjoyed seeing the characters grow and change. Sumi may start out wanting to bring Hauk and others down but she soon finds that there is more to what meets the eye, especially when it comes to Hauk. It was nice to see Hauk find his heart and reach for his happy ever after. Love is stronger than hate and Sumi as well as Hauk learn this first hand. As their story unfolds the two must learn to trust one another and their emotions. We learn a lot about Hauk in this book. Finding out why he is the way he is and why he does what he does. I was pulled in to this story right from the start. Although I would have liked a bit more tension or work put into some of the many problems that they encountered along the way. Making some parts more engaging than others yet I never really lost interest in Hauk and Sumi's story. Sherrilyn Kenyon does a wonderful job of combining action and romance to build a great story that kept this readers attention all the way through to the end.

SUMMARY

The war is on…

Counted among the fiercest Andarion warriors ever born, Hauk is one of the five founding members of the Sentella: an organization that has declared war on the League. They rule the Ichidian universe with an iron fist and terrify it with an army of well-trained assassins. Hauk's enemies are legion, but he fears nothing and no one. He will do whatever it takes to survive and protect his Sentella brethren.

Sumi Antaxas is one of the best assassins the League has ever trained. In her world, failure is not an option and she has never met a target she couldn't execute. So when she's assigned Hauk, she believes it'll be a quick and easy mission.

But nothing is ever as simple as it seems, and Hauk is far better skilled than any she's faced before, in the New York Times bestseller Born of Fury from Sherrilyn Kenyon.

I checked this book out from my local
library on a whim. I couldn't put it down
once I started it. I was completely
captivated from cover to cover!
