Here's a case where you just can't stop at one. No sooner
did I get started with this book then I just knew I had to
search out the other books in this series. This book totally
stands on its own merit but it was like opening a bag of
potato chips, you just needed one more.
As fast paced a romance novel as I've ever read. Definitely
had me turning pages to see where this wonderful couple was
going to wind up. For me CAN'T STOP LOVING YOU was a very
welcoming introduction to Lynnette Austin. Just another perk
for reviewers discovering still another author to include on
the must read list.
Young love is wonderful but it usually is hard pressed to
have the staying power needed for a long term relationship.
Its future always seems questionable at best. There is
always the possibility of that spark blowing out even if the
flame seems so bright. The people in this small Texas town
of Maverick Junction were pretty certain that their Maggie
Sullivan and Brawley Odell were destined to be together.
For Maggie and Brawley it would seem the blush of young love
just didn't have staying power at all. Their futures seemed
to be apart, not as a couple. Truly sad since their love and
attraction was so strong. But their youth and immaturity
were at odds with the chance that this love had any possible
way to survive. Both were about to embark on the voyage to
follow their dreams and it seems that these dreams had no
place in this small Texas town. Following the dream meant
leaving everything they knew and loved behind.
Sometimes you have to do the unthinkable in order to help
that special someone follow their dream even if initially it
means possibly breaking their heart. Young hearts do mend
and disappointment is part of life. For Brawley this breakup
with his soul mate fiery Maggie was just temporary. Just
until both had a chance to experience life and go after
their goals. In his mind they would reconnect at some later
time. Well at least that's what he told himself. But you see
as far as Maggie was concerned Brawley left her behind and
broken hearted. She had several issues to deal with after
his abrupt departure.
Neither Maggie nor Brawley were ready to really make a
forever commitment under usual circumstances that would be
readily accepted considering their ages. But as it turned
out these were not usual at least not for Maggie.
Fast forward now as adults and back in Maverick Junction
Brawley realizes his heart still belongs to Maggie. But
Maggie is now ready to spread her wings and take flight to
New York to launch her own line of clothing. Brawley is back
to stay fully committed to his job as town vet. Once again
their paths are diverging.
Maggie feels she has constructed a well-deserved wall around
her heart as far as Brawley is concerned but his return to
town is definitely putting her in an awkward position. Life
in a small town means that their paths would continually
cross. But Maggie was leaving and determined to go with her
heart intact.
Brawley on the other hand has to face facts that perhaps his
chance at a future with Maggie is impossible. He is going to
take the high road or is he. Love is worth fighting for even
if all the odds are not in your favor.
CAN'T STOP LOVING YOU is an extraordinarily well written
story filled with just the right amount of angst to keep you
interested from beginning to end. Austin creates a lovely
town with intriguing characters who will win your heart.
Austin's lively, witty and engaging dialog rounds out a
well-constructed book.
She's the only dream he wants . . .
Hometown girl Maggie Sullivan can't wait to get out of
Maverick Junction. Designing the wedding gown of the year
for her friend-and America's Favorite Heiress-is the break
Maggie's been waiting for. But her lifelong dream takes an
unexpected turn when she runs into her high school
sweetheart-now the town's hotter-than-hot veterinarian.
Brawley Odell, country right down to the tips of his cowboy
boots, has returned to take over the local animal doctor's
practice. But the real reason he's in town is that he's
never stopped thinking about the fiery green-eyed beauty who
once captured his heart . . .
