In THE VAMPIRE WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO By Kerrelyn Sparks there is nothing like trying to convince a scientist that believes there is a logical explanation for everything, that vampires, shape shifters and other creatures truly exist. This is the dilemma that Dougal Kincaid and the others at Romatech finds themselves in.
They need the help of Dr. Leah Chin, a renowned genetic scientist believed to be the best in her field. They need her help to find out how Master Han is chemically transforming mortals into super mortals. The first attempt to convince Dr Chin to help doesn't go well, so the decision is made to bring her to the lab to see the world she could be working in and again explain about the vampire world.
Dougal has a past that none know about. However, the moment Dougal sees her on the security monitor he knows she is for him. There is something that draw her to him. His prosthetic hand and dragon tattoo begin to act differently from the time he first sees Leah. Could he possibly be getting over his past and be ready to face his future and love again?
The twist and turns in THE VAMPIRE WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO are wonderful. I really enjoy The Love at Stakes Series by Ms. Sparks and this one does not disappoint. I have always liked Dougal's character, he is the strong silent type and makes sure everyone is protected and he is selfless. But it is finally his turn to find love and be happy. Leah is a good mate for him, when she finally lets herself believe that there are vampires and that Dougal is one. She is kind and naive about some things, but when she finally trusts her heart and Dougal, all is wonderful.
Dougal Kincaid wasn't trying to scare Leah Chen when she saw him...er...handling the life–size Romatech blood doll VANNA. And he really wasn't trying to scare her when he accidentally pulled the doll's arm off, spraying Leah with blood.
Incidents like these seem to keep happening to the Scottish warrior vampire. Ever since he lost his hand in battle and has been struggling with a prosthesis, Dougal's sure he's the laughing stock of the clan. But when geneticist Leah arrives, anxious to solve the case of a mutant prisoner, he's suddenly tongue–tied–and very interested. But can she ever see past his gruff, clumsy exterior?
Leah doesn't believe in vampires. At least, that's what she keeps telling herself as she joins their ranks and works alongside some of the world's most talented scientists. Nevermind their fangs. And the quiet kilted one? He's the most fascinating of all.
But when Leah's life is in danger, Dougal must put his fears behind him and find a way to save her–hand or no hand. A daring rescue that circumvents the globe, he's on a mission to save the woman of his dreams...
