Jorie Peters leaves Atlanta and her business, "Wedding
Belles", to start a new life in Texas at the Spring Hill
Ranch as a wedding planner. The recession forced her to
close her own business and left her broke and alone. Jorie
soon realizes that her first impression of the desolate
countryside was definitely misleading. The ranch has huge
oak trees and gorgeous landscapes along with a mansion
direct out of Gone With the Wind. The ranch also has a
gorgeous man... Ryan Claiborne, the son of her new boss.
Jorie's first wedding is to be for Ryan and his
fiancée, Laurel. Detecting sadness each time the wedding
details are mentioned to Ryan, she finally learns the
truth. Ryan is marrying his close friend, Laurel
Harrington, who was deserted by the father of the baby she
is carrying. Close friends to Laurel since childhood, Ryan
steps up to protect her with offering marriage.
Between the attraction for Ryan and the ranch hounds
from hell, Jorie's orderly world is no longer. She has
fallen head over heels in love with Ryan, which appears to
be reciprocated. Jorie and Ryan are fighting feelings
that simply can't continue with his upcoming nuptials.
Ryan, believing his problem has been resolved, unleashes
his built up passion with the all too willing Jorie. This
causes Jorie to be fired by Odelia, Ryan's mother. Now
Jorie is asked to move out, which she does, and without
telling Ryan. Working at a greasy restaurant in a small
town in Texas, Jorie's hopes for love and a happy future
are shattered. She just doesn't believe in miracles or
happily ever after.
THE RANCHER'S BRIDE is one of the most amusing and highly
funny tales
of love and confusion. I loved the quirky characters and
the nit picking between Laurel and Jorie. The feisty gal
with the quick come-back isn't at all what Ryan thought he
wanted.
Pamela Britton has written an extremely cute and
entertaining tale. The weave of the story keeps you
enthralled and waiting for the next fall. I will
endeavor to seek out other stories by this Ms. Britton. THE
RANCHER'S BRIDE
was completely enjoyable and kept me chuckling throughout
the story.
Rude with a bad attitude—that's Ryan Clayborne, all right.
From the moment she meets her new boss's son, Jorie Peters
vows to spend as little time as possible with the surly
rancher. That she has to plan his wedding? Well, that's just
bad luck. The sparks shooting between them? Those are a
Texas-size disaster.
The last thing Ryan needs is some big-city wedding
coordinator stomping her high heels all over his ranch. He
has bigger things on his mind—mainly a temporary marriage to
a friend he doesn't love. But one look at Jorie turns the
cowboy's life, and heart, upside down. Heated thoughts lead
to cold feet, but Ryan's still determined to do the
honorable thing. Even if doing right has never felt so
wrong
