Inspirational

It is the spring of 1943. With a wedding and a cross-country move, Millie's world is about to change forever. If only her past could change with it. Soon after the break of day, Bump will become Millie's husband. And then, if all goes as planned, they will leave the rain-soaked fields of Mississippi and head for the wilds of the Colorado Rockies. As Millie tries to forget a dark secret, she hasn't yet realized how drastically those past experiences will impact the coming days. For most of Millie's life, being free felt about as unlikely as the mountains moving. But she’s about to discover that sometimes in life, we are given second chances, and that the only thing bigger than her past … is her future.

Re: When Mountains Move

Wow! Millie has quite a story! I absolutely adore the whole concept of family
secrets! :) My mom and I love to read the same book at the same time and then
talk about it nonstop :)

i love to read books and then i give it to my mother in law
to read so we can discuss it or vis versa

New starts are wonderful for the basis of stories. This one sounds great.

I love your inspirational book choices...my mom had me read The Poisonwood Bible...thought I'd dislike it, but it's one of my top ten books to this day! I'd love to be able to share your stories with her, thanks for the generous chance for your fans!

The next best thing to reading a book is discussing a book
you've read.
(
Lynn Anderson 8:27am September 11, 2013)

The books sound great! I would love to read them!

Thank you for sharing some of YOUR favorite reads. I'm definitely going to look into them. Plus YOUR books sound fantastic. And what a lovely idea to give two of each book - so you can share them with friends. How very sweet. Thanks for the chance to win. But even if I'm not a lucky winner, I HAVE to get your books to read - they sound great. Again, thanks for the chance to win.

These will definately have to go on my TBR list!! I think I'm really going to enjoy your books, and for you to be on the NY Times list AND USA Today as well, they have to be good reads!! Considering the time setting and all, I don't think I'll be going wrong with your books!! The way I look at it, why stop at just a best friend with your books?? They're probably good enough for a book club, too, and I'll probably drop a bug in the ear of the one we have here in town!!
(

Sounds like a great book!

(
Maria Proctor 10:30am September 11, 2013)

I do love inspirational books and your books sound wonderful, the type I would very much like to read. One of my daughters is a lover of books as I am, and we talk about books we are reading or have read all the time. We share books as well. Thank you for this chance to win your books and hope to read them in the near future. The Best To You Always.

Into the Free has an absolutely beautiful cover, too!! Someone has some real art talent that designed it!
(
Linda Luinstra 7:04pm September 11, 2013)

Love the fact that you are giving away both books. That way a person can start at the beginning of Millie's story.
(
Christine Schultz 7:23pm September 11, 2013)

Congrats on winning the Christy Award and being a bestselling author. Both these books sound very good! Looking forward to reading them.
(
Rich Cook 7:44pm September 11, 2013)

What a neat prize and blog post!! The books sound great and I love that you shared some of your favorite books. I am an elementary media specialist that loves books written for children. The quality and quantity of children's books has greatly increased since I was a child. There is not much better than a great "read aloud". Children still love them!!
(
Sheri Pruitt 8:01pm September 11, 2013)

Although I am a 3rd generation bookworm and am raising a 4th
generation bookworm, we all read different types of books.
And my daughter although a very mature teen, I'm still not
sharing or discussing my books with her. She does have her
best friend whom they spend so much time together her
parents and myself call them sisters, they share their
books, and fight if one gets the last one at a book store.
(
Tawnya Bentley 8:01pm September 11, 2013)

i enjoy all types of books but historical fiction is always a must read!!
(
Lisa Fitzgibbons 8:13pm September 11, 2013)

That what my friends and I do. We have only one copy of the book so we give the book to the next person on the post-it list. And when we are done, we talk about the book. I know we're kind of sad of having only one copy but we do share what we have.
(
Kai Wong 9:30pm September 11, 2013)

I think reading is a "team sport" too :) I look forward to reading about Millie's life-journey!
(
Amy Baker 9:40pm September 11, 2013)

This book caught my attention because of the lovely cover! I love the mountains in the background.
(
Callie Stuck 10:34pm September 11, 2013)

Wow, Congrats on your new books: INTO THE FREE and WHEN
MOUNTAINS MOVE. Both of these books sound fascinating and I
would love to win them and read them this Fall. Thank You
very much. Cecilia CECE
(
Cecilia Dunbar Hernandez 11:49pm September 11, 2013)

OK, now you've got me wondering what her secret is. I'll have to see if the library has or can get a copy. What a great idea to give two sets away. They only question is who gets the other set and the other set after I'm done.
(
Laura Gullickson 12:10pm September 12, 2013)

Sounds mysterious and interesting. I look forward to reading
it!
(
Mary Ann Dimand 7:46am September 12, 2013)

(

I love to read and usually find the time on airplanes as I jet to many places for work.
(
Emily Mardis 11:06am September 12, 2013)

The post war years were a special time for so many of our parents and grandparents. The historical fiction always manages to give a glimpse of what it was like for them. I enjoy reading this type of book and discussing it with that generation.
(
Ann Martinisi 12:22pm September 12, 2013)

Your books sounds very interesting! I love historical fiction!
(
Rosemary Arellano 2:06pm September 12, 2013)

I HAVE to get your books to read. They sound great. Again, thanks for the chance to win.
(
Shirley Sego 4:56pm September 12, 2013)

These two magnificent novels are certainly meant to be discussed and shared!! I look forward to adding Julie's favorites to my TBR list!
(
Britney Adams 5:32pm September 12, 2013)

I like nothing better than a novel that is set in the South as I am a lover of Southern Lit. I read other books as well but I have a tendency to reach for those with a Southern setting either historical or present. If you liked The Poisonwood Bible, then you will surely like Kingsolver's new book, Flight Behavior. If you haven't already read it, its a must! And, although I get the motive behind you giveaway, it would mean more winners if you chose one book per person....& a small Starbucks card for each. Thank you!
(
Susan Coster 5:53pm September 12, 2013)

What a great giveaway! I know exactly what friend I would share the books with over coffee! I'm looking forward to checking out your books.
(
Juli Lear 6:34pm September 12, 2013)

Gypsies and family secrets - love that! And this is such an amazing giveaway.
I'm always sharing or recommending books to friends. Thanks!
(
Becca Luman 8:11pm September 12, 2013)

Both of these books sound like something I would love to read. I would love to be the lucky recipient of these novels. My sister belongs to a book club. I would certainly recommend them to her. Thanks!
(
Lynne Mauro 10:25pm September 12, 2013)

I love the concept of group reading. Of course I would. School librarian. I frequently will provide more than one copy of a title in my library so that my kids can buddy read. It helps when you start a journey with your best friend. Thanks for the opportunity!
(
Marcia Berbeza 11:14pm September 12, 2013)

Talking over books that you have read is so much fun. My
family are great readers & sharers.
