Re: Bending The Rules

Most of the time! But there are times I lose it! I'm a softy though, cry at commercials on TV for goodness sake! Oh well, it 'tis what it 'tis! LOL

I sound like your clone! I cry during cartoons! My family always checks to see if I have Kleenex when we go to a movie. You never know what you might see in one of those previews :>)

What a great topic! Altbough I'm not likely to cry over movies (although that has certainly happened a time or two) I can definitely relate to crying when angry. Susan, your comment about having the perfect comeback only after its needed is something I have lived through more than once! My favorite heroines are those that are just the opposite. They have the comeback ready and aren't afraid to use it!
By the way, I absolutely love your books!

I am someone who can cry at the drop of a hat. I cry while reading, at movies, when I'm mad. Tears come to my eyes when I tell my kids how proud I am of them. I cry for our national anthem. As for comebacks...I'm like you. I come up with the perfect one when it's too late to use it:(.

I am a very emotional person, have tried to change but don't succeed, I also think of comebacks aftr it is all over. Such is life! Agatha Townsend

I can handle most situations, but I'm a big cry baby - cry over movies, commercials - cry when I sad or when I'm happy!

It must be in the genes *g*. My daughters and I cry over sad movies and books. There are books that I could not read sitting in a doctor's waiting room because tears would be running down my face.

I tend to hide my feelings most of the time. When I do reveal them, they come out with a vengeance!
(
LuAnn Morgan 5:23pm July 20, 2009)

My emotions are somewhat dependent on what is going on around me. Yesterday I was talking to
my mom on the phone, and realized our relationship has taken a turn that isn't what I would
want, and she'll never come here again, and when we hung up I cried. So I guess that means I'm
emotional!

great question. I cry at just about anything be it happy or sad, end up with a red nose and puffy eyes and look the worse if I may say so. One of the reasons I won't read sad books in fact. So I deal with it

Hey, you all! Sorry I'm so late. I had my calendar turned to next week and I was just sitting here writing when I thought: OMG--it's the 20th!!

Anyhow, enough excuses. Thanks for all your comments.

Kara, I have a movie for ya that will make you cry. I went to see My Sister's Keeper yesterday and it's definitely a 7 hanky flick. 'Course I'm a lightweight when it comes to keeping my tears under wraps for that sorta thing, so I may not exactly be the template to go by. But I caught the soulmate wiping away tears, too. :)
(
Susan Andersen 8:37pm July 20, 2009)

Robin, yep, I do that, too--the tearing up when you try to express how proud you are of someone.

Sandi, I'm sorry to hear about your problems with your mother. It's always especially tough to have raggedy relationships with family.
(
Susan Andersen 8:40pm July 20, 2009)

I had wondered if that movie was going to be good. It looks like it might do the trick in the 'making me cry' department.I'll have to check it out.
(
Kara Conrad 9:35pm July 20, 2009)

I'm not really good at arguing with people--unless there's an important principle to defend. And one thing I never have is a smart comeback.
(
Sigrun Schulz 9:40pm July 20, 2009)

I'm like you most of the time and wear my heart on my sleeve, too! I can cry at the drop at of a hat. But I can also get fired up too!(Most of the time, it's a week later when I think of the good comebacks tho!)
(
Martha Lawson 10:19pm July 20, 2009)

Afraid we are "sisters" in the way we
handle things. The best come backs
are always thought of too late.
Depending on how tired I am, I can
keep from getting weepy. Then again
sometimes not. Writing is actually a
great way to deal with this. As you
said, there is always the delete key
and you can put that great retort in
hours later.
(
Patricia Barraclough 10:36pm July 20, 2009)

I carry my heart on my sleeve all the time. I have a kind loving heart. I can cry from laughing to hard to crying after going to a nursery and seeing all the new lives brought into this world. I feel showing your emotional side is a positive thing.
(
Cheryl English 10:43pm July 20, 2009)

When I get really angry I start crying, it doesn't quite give the right impression. I am also very proud of all my children and embarrass them regularly telling people about them!
(
Barbara Hanson 3:38pm July 22, 2009)

No. Just when I need or want to look strong and capable I start crying. Irksome!!
