Exciting news for the Village Blend! Only Murders in Gotham, a new hit show in its second season, has chosen to incorporate the notorious coffee shop, Village Blend, into the show. Clare Cosi, co-owner and master roaster, is beyond thrilled! Not only is her coffee shop going to gain free exposure when the hit series airs, Clare will also meet one of her favorite comedians, Jerry Sullivan, one of the stars of Only Murders in Gotham.

After a less-than-perfect meeting with Jerry, Clare and her crew get ready for filming to start. But nothing ever goes according to plan. The set seems to be cursed. Various accidents and mishaps continue to haunt filming. Also adding to the mystery, Madame, Clare’s ex-mother-in-law and original owner of the Village Blend, is holding secrets of her own. She knows Jerry from her earlier years but refuses to divulge how she met him or what caused the friendship to end

The final straw for Clare happens when one of her baristas is shot on set when a blank bullet is replaced with a real one. As old secrets come to light and motives are exposed, Clare is determined to get to the bottom of what is happening on this shoot. Even if it’s the last thing she does.

BULLETPROOF BARISTA by Cleo Coyle is the cozy mystery we’ve all been waiting for this year! This is the 20th installment of the Coffeehouse Mystery series, and it came in with a bang! Pun intended.

BULLETPROOF BARISTA is everything a cozy mystery lover longs for. We have a coffee house, some romance, feisty baristas, an ex-husband who is as charming as he is wild, the regal Madame, and, of course, a murder mystery plot that will keep you turning the pages. As if that isn’t enough, adding the depth of the movie set and getting a glimpse of the inner workings of production, just packs the perfect punch to this mystery.

I look forward to this release every year, and BULLETPROOF BARISTA exceeded all of my expectations. The only let-down is now I have to wait another year to meet up at my favorite coffee house friends. I highly recommend grabbing this book and settling in with a hot cup of coffee. Maybe check out the recipes first and get yourself a tasty treat ready for the ultimate cozy package. BULLETPROOF BARISTA is the latest book in this long-running series and can be read as a standalone. However, do yourself a favor and start at book one.

SUMMARY

When a film crew’s location shoot delivers an actual shooting, Clare Cosi finds herself at the scene of a true crime in this showstopping entry in the beloved Coffeehouse Mysteries from New York Times bestselling author Cleo Coyle.

Only Murders in Gotham, the smash-hit streaming program, is famous for filming in authentic New York locations and using real New Yorkers as extras. For its second season, they've chosen to spotlight the century-old Village Blend and its quirky crew of baristas. Shop manager and master roaster Clare Cosi is beyond thrilled, especially when her superb bulletproof coffee lands her a craft services contract for the production.

Madame, the eccentric octogenarian owner of the landmark shop, reveals an old kinship with the star of the show, comedian Jerry Sullivan. Now a Hollywood legend, Jerry frequented the Blend during his early years performing in Greenwich Village comedy clubs. But the past may hold more than nostalgia for Jerry. Suspicious accidents begin plaguing his shoot. Then a real bullet is fired from a stage gun, and Clare becomes convinced something sinister is afoot.

While Jerry’s production moves to exciting new locations, Clare keeps the coffee flowing—and her investigation going—even as a murderer lurks in the wings. But can she root out the rotten player in this Big Apple production before the lights go out on her?

Includes a stellar menu of surefire recipes!
