Margo Scott is just a normal bookseller, life cruising
along just fine, when suddenly -- dramatically -- everyone
close to her disappears and people are trying to kill her.
She can't remember the last month of her life and has no
idea what has happened. One thing she does know is that
when she's attacked, she fights back with a skill that she
has no idea she possessed. Margo's finding apartments she
didn't know she had, can't locate relatives she swore she
had and is attempting to follow the clues to find out what
was really going on in her life. On top of that, she's
questioned in the murder of a man she swears she's never
met before (but a picture tells her otherwise).
Agent Jack Wise doesn't know who Margo really is and he
certainly isn't buying into her excuses that she knows
nothing. He's seen her lethal skills -- but he's just not
sure whose side Margo is on. He's leaning toward her being
an assassin, but wants to believe differently. He's not
sure if that's good instincts or his attraction for her
talking.
An intriguing book pulls the reader in from the beginning
as Margo wanders through a life that is, to say the least,
confusing. With a dash of romance, intrigue and plenty of
mystery, BLACKOUT keeps you turning pages.
A month ago Margo Scott was a book dealer with family and
friends. Now, suddenly, she can’t remember the last four
weeks of her life, everyone close to her has disappeared,
and she’s the prime suspect in a murder.
When an intruder attacks, she responds with lightning-quick
moves she has no memory of ever learning. Undercover agent
Jake Wise has her in his sights and can’t decide if this
mysterious woman is an assassin or a pawn. Is he tempted to
protect her because she’s innocent or because he’s falling
for her?
Thrust together, these two loners realize that trusting
each other is their only hope of survival. Because the good
guys and the bad guys have one thing in common. They all
want Margo Scott dead — the sooner, the better.
