Romance Erotica Sensual | Romance Billionaire

Marcus Rey has worked his way from the gutter to become mega wealthy. Along the way, of course, he has been ruthless and feared. He doesn't care, he has everything he wants, until he catches a glimpse of Eve Banner. With just that look he is TAKEN with everything about her.

She is the most perfect woman he has ever seen, but so far above him there is no way she can be his. Then he inadvertently endangers her by bringing her to the attention of his worst enemy. Coming to her rescue he must protect her, while doing everything he can to make her happy.

TAKEN by author Lisa Marie Rice is a great story if you like a dark hero - and who doesn't? Marcus pulled himself out of the gutter, made a life, and made enemies. Unfortunately for Eve, through his interaction with her no-good father, Marcus got her in the sights of his worst enemy. Readers most likely won't care much for her father and would have liked to see something happen to him, but Marcus was at least able to save Eve.

Warning - there is a rather horrifying attempted rape featured in TAKEN. One of the things I found a bit unrealistic was how, after that ordeal, Eve was very relaxed around Marcus - who was her hero but also a stranger. The fact that Marcus was gentle and kind might have been what put her at ease, along with her attraction to him during their brief introduction at her father's house earlier. I would have liked to have seen a bit more of Marcus' plotting to end the danger to Eve, and maybe his meeting up with his men a little earlier in the story.

TAKEN gives you a deliciously dark hero, a strong heroine, all the steamy moments, a bit of glitz and glamour, danger, intrigue and much more. A quick but incredibly enjoyable story, and one that will stay with you long after the end.

SUMMARY

She is his. She just doesn’t know it yet.

Marcus Rey clawed his way to the top. He is immensely wealthy, ruthless and feared. He has everything he could possibly want ... except for her.

Eve Banner.

Elegant, cultured, regal—she makes Marcus’s pulse pound like nothing ever has. But the remote, bookish beauty is out of reach for a man who does not officially exist. But she has come into the sights of his worst enemy and he has to sweep her to his luxurious underground mansion to save her life.

Eve has worked hard for her success and enjoys it. Though she is a little lonely. The men she
meets are so weak and boring. It’s easier to be alone. Until one night she is attacked by thugs, and rescued by a man who is anything but weak or boring.

Marcus Rey is strong, mysterious, secretive … dangerous. A man doomed to always live in the shadows. But he calls to her like no man ever has. She is tempted to stay in his underground lair forever.

But then his deadly enemies start closing in on them with terrifying speed …
