With fifteen books already in the Coffeehouse
Mystery series, one would think that that they might
get a tad repetitive. Well, that's definitely not the case
here with DEAD TO THE LAST DROP. In this book, we move from
New York to Washington and a
very special character in the form of the president's
daughter makes an
appearance in this book. And if that's not intriguing
enough, there's also a
spotlight on jazz music.
I have to say that I'm really impressed with the
originality of this storyline.
Not only does it breathe new life into the series, but it
gives loyal readers
something to be excited about as the Village Blend extends
its parameters.
Cleo Coyle did such an amazing job with this book. I just
love every bit of it.
The secondary characters in this series
really made DEAD TO THE LAST DROP. There are a
few, but they are so well-done and three-dimensional that I
almost didn't
want to leave them behind when the book was done. I actually
wished we
could see more of them in the rest of the series as well.
Speaking of seeing
more of a character, setting this book in Washington made it
perfect for Clare
and Mike to see more of each other. I'm guessing that was
intentional, but I
love the fact that Coyle was able to integrate this into the
series since Mike
is one of my favorite characters.
If you haven't read this series
yet and you're a fan of Cozy mysteries, you
need to drop everything and pick up one of these books. I
promise you, you
won't be sorry.
