No one could be more excited when I learned that Julia
Quinn was going to
be return to writing about the Bridgetons. The
Bridgerton series is by far my
favorite series of hers, and I always find myself returning
to reread them so
saying I was excited about getting more stories about this
family is an
understatement.
In this brand new series, Quinn gifts her loyal readers
with a treat as Billie
Bridgerton finds her HEA with one of the Rokesby men. As
family friends,
the Rokesby men have all been expected to marry Billie, and
she seems find
with the idea until things start blooming between her and
George, the one
brother that Billie doesn't seem to get along with.
As the family antics start to get out of control, George
and Billie find
themselves getting closer. You can expect the same great
banter Quinn
is known for in BECAUSE OF MISS BRIDGERTON. Each character
is brimming with personality
so it's
easy to fall in love with her characters but I think it's
Billie's adventurous side
that made this book so delicious.
Quinn takes her time introducing the several new characters
to readers. I
have to say that there is something alluring about each of
them. However,
apart from George and Billie, Andrew Rokesbys was the one
that held my
attention the most.
This new series definitely has the same feel of the
Bridgertons, but the new
set of characters brings new life to Quinn's writing. I'm
so happy Quinn
has decided to write more about families. I have no doubt
the Rokesbys
will soon join the Bridgertons as a reader favorite.
Sometimes you find love in the most unexpected of places...
This is not one of those times.
Everyone expects Billie Bridgerton to marry one of the Rokesby brothers. The two families have been neighbors for centuries, and as a child the tomboyish Billie ran wild with Edward and Andrew. Either one would make a perfect husband... someday.
Sometimes you fall in love with exactly the person you think you should...
Or not.
There is only one Rokesby Billie absolutely cannot tolerate, and that is George. He may be the eldest and heir to the earldom, but he's arrogant, annoying, and she's absolutely certain he detests her. Which is perfectly convenient, as she can't stand the sight of him, either.
But sometimes fate has a wicked sense of humor...
Because when Billie and George are quite literally thrown together, a whole new sort of sparks begins to fly. And when these lifelong adversaries finally kiss, they just might discover that the one person they can't abide is the one person they can't live without...
