In ROCK HARD, Nalini Singh takes two total opposites and
weaves a
charmingly sexy story in the most entertaining way. I
wondered how
Charlotte Baird, a shy but sweet woman could managed to
lure in the likes of
T-Rex, but her new CEO doesn't just intimidate her, he
arouses her too.
Readers will find that though Charlotte is emotionally
scarred, she isn't a
complete wallflower. Being organized and efficient lands
her in the big boss's
office and when she begins to work for him, a romance
slowly blooms. The
balance between both the hero and heroine's personalities
really made this
book work. Singh gives just the right amount of humor and
flirtiness with
right amount of the shyness and intensity. Together it
made for a book that
had me smiling from ear to ear.
There are so many things that Singh gets right with this
book. First off,
excellent writing always wins no matter what. With free-
flowing prose and
pacing, it's incredibly easy to read this book in one go.
Also, I fell in love with
both characters right away. There's something very
endearing about
Charlotte's character. Set up as the undergo, everything
that happens to her
is almost like a daydream and I was rooting for her all
the way. But then you
have Gabriel Bishop aka T-Rex who became the massive
selling point of this
book. His intensity paired with his softer side is sure to
make readers swoon!
Though this is technically the second in the Rock
Kiss series, I do believe
ROCK HARD stands well as a standalone. Singh captures
humor and heart
with ROCK HARD, making this my favorite in the series so
far!
In New York Times Bestselling author Nalini Singh’s newest
contemporary romance, passion ignites between a gorgeous,
sinfully sexy man who built himself up from nothing and a
shy woman who has a terrible secret in her past…
Wealthy businessman Gabriel Bishop rules the boardroom
with
the same determination and ruthlessness that made him a
rock
star on the rugby field. He knows what he wants, and he’ll
go after it no-holds-barred.
And what he wants is Charlotte Baird.
Charlotte knows she’s a mouse. Emotionally scarred and
painfully shy, she just wants to do her job and remain as
invisible as possible. But the new CEO—a brilliant,
broad-shouldered T-Rex of a man who growls and storms
through the office, leaving carnage in his wake—clearly
has
other plans. Plans that may be equal parts business and
bedroom.
If Charlotte intends to survive this battle of wits and
hearts, the mouse will have to learn to wrangle the T-Rex.
Game on.
