High on the cliffs overlooking Kerrick, Maine, Trumble
mansion stands proud and defiant. This formidable
structure
has been shrouded in mystery almost from its inception.
Whispers of roaming ghosts and tragedy befalling men who
live there have the townspeople steering clear of it. The
dark, tragic past needs to see the light of day in order
for the house to remain in the family.
Ava Trumble has always known that she would inherit the
Trumble Mansion along with all of its spectral
inhabitants.
In fact, the ghosts will add to the appeal of the bed and
breakfast she is planning; however, there is a slight
wrinkle in her plans. She must first give a plausible
explanation for what happened to Sarah Kerrick, a woman
who
disappeared on the grounds without a trace almost two
hundred years
ago. If she fails to find tangible proof within a year,
the
house falls into the hands of the historical society and
her dreams go by the wayside. Desperate times call for
desperate measures, so Ava hires paranormal investigators
from the TV show Phantoms. Will the ghosts cooperate? Will
the team discover the reason behind Sarah's disappearance?
Jackson Granger has always wanted to set foot on the
Trumble estate ever since he started hosting Phantoms.
Perhaps, it is due to professional curiosity and the
ghosts
rumored to haunt the house, or perhaps it is due to a more
personal familial connection with Sarah Kerrick and the
mystery surrounding her. Whatever the case, this
investigation seems different to him. All he knows is that
he is instantly attracted to Ava, and the ghosts seem more
active when they are together. Their chemistry is instant,
and leaves him wondering what exactly is happening. Are
the
spectral spectators playing with their emotions or is
there
something real between them? Do they even stand a chance
considering the history of the house?
Kelly Moran pens an exceptionally haunting romance. She
creates a fascinating house complete with an assortment of
ghosts and an old mystery. Her characters are driven,
loyal, and quite likeable. Ava, a fiery tempered redhead,
will do anything to preserve her family's ancestral home.
Jackson, a paranormal investigator, is ready to come face
to face with some ghosts. What neither of them expects is
their reaction to one another. I found this tale to be an
absolute delight. I could not stop reading wondering
whether the ghosts would appear, if the truth would be
revealed, and if love would finally conquer all.
GHOST OF A PROMISE delivers thrills and chills for a
wonderfully spine-tingling romance. Ms. Moran has
certainly
added another dimension to the typical ghost story. I
would highly recommend especially if you enjoy watching
all
those ghost hunting shows.
A paranormal category romance from Entangled's Covet
imprint...
It might be love...but will they survive the night?
The ghosts of her family's estate on the coast of Maine
never troubled Ava Trumble. When she finally inherits the
historic mansion, however, there's a small string
attached:
Ava has exactly one year to solve a 200-year-old mystery
of
a missing girl, or lose her family's home...
The lead investigator for paranormal TV show Phantoms,
Jackson Granger, is prepared for any metaphysical
encounter-until now. It's not just the uncanny sense of
"coming home" or even his reaction to the fiery redhead
who
seems to consume his every waking thought. No, it's that
the
ghosts are using Jackson and Ava's attraction to play out
a
centuries-old tragedy. Heartbreak. Loss. Overwhelming
passion. Now Jackson and Ava must determine if they're
sharing something real...or if they've been possessed by
a
love that never died.
