Cole Covington returns to Wilmington, North Carolina after
being critically
injured serving in the service in Iraq. The IED literally
blew two of his
comrades apart in front of his eyes. After months of
recuperating with
severe injuries and burns, he is finally released to his
beachfront home
originally owned by his very rich parents, but now his.
His dysfunctional
family, loss of his older brother Dean and forcing away
his true love ten
years ago was his reason for joining the service. There
had to be
salvation in running away from all the misery, guilt and
sadness.
Once Cole is back home, someone needs to pull him from his
funk and
give him a reason to live again while dealing with his
PTSD. Because of
his mother's part in his disastrous separation from the
woman he loved,
he refuses to forgive and forget and will not allow his
parents to visit. His
domineering mother forced Cole to give up the maid's
daughter, Mia
Galdon, with the threat she would ruin all chances of Mia
entering any
college and would also see that her Down's syndrome
sister, Ginny, would
be removed from her care. Ginny is the only person Mia
loves except for
Cole. If only she had known why he sternly sent her away
with harsh
words after making love to her. As a last resort his
sister Lacey is
begging Mia to come care for Cole and save him from
himself. Mia has
been laid off from her job and can't meet the payments at
Ginny's school.
Now a nurse, Mia accepts the position in exchange for the
promise
Ginny's school will be paid for her. With hard and fast
rules without any
leniency, Mia manages to get Cole back on his feet and
leaving his PTSD
behind, but not before they realize their feelings haven't
changed in ten
years. As time nears for her to walk away again, Cole
receives a visit by
his domineering mother and his father bringing things to
an end. How are
these two ever to find that all-consuming love and future
together again
when Mia is forever threatened with the loss of Ginny?
Reading this heartbreaking and emotional story of a young
love lost but
never forgotten will definitely take more than a box of
Kleenex to get
through. A completely nostalgic tale of a once in a
lifetime love is a read I
will not forget for a long time to come. RETURN TO ME is
a truly wonderful read that
will strike the heart of anyone who picks this book up.
If I could have
stopped the crying throughout I might have been able to
finish it faster! Kelly Moran is a
truly gifted author who really knows how to get to the
heart of the reader.
I can't wait to read the next book in this Covington
Cove series.
With every beat of the heart comes a memory of what could
have been…
Ten years ago, Cole Covington was just another rich kid
who
got everything he wanted—including young and trusting Mia
Galdon. Then one night everything changed, and two hearts
were shattered. Cole buried his guilt in the military,
where
love was just part of the past. Now Cole has come back
home,
emotionally damaged, guarded, and unprepared for what’s
waiting for him…
At the urging of Cole’s sister, Mia has returned to the
Covington family’s coastal home in Wilmington as a
private
nurse to help Cole recover. With her uncertain personal
life
at a crossroad, Mia doesn’t have the luxury of saying no
to
the job. And she soon finds out that the attraction is
still
alive. So are memories of betrayal. But Mia will discover
more than the power of resilience. She’ll discover a
secret
Cole has held for years, one that will force them to
confront the past and give new meaning to letting go,
forgiveness, and a future worth fighting for.
