Have you ever really wanted a true glimpse into the life of a romance author? If so, NOT QUITE FOREVER is the perfect book for you. Dakota Laurens is a very successful romance author, at a writer's conference in Florida, promoting her latest book. While Dakota makes her living giving her readers happily-ever-after stories, she does not personally believe that they exist. On day one of the conference, a computer glitch double books her meeting room with Dr. Walter Eddy, who is giving a lecture at a medical conference. Dr. Eddy is an emergency physician and works with Borderless Doctors, volunteering his time during natural disasters. His work has consumed the vast majority of his time, leaving little room in his life for romance. When he and Dakota meet for the first time, the attraction is instant. But will they realize that there is more to life than work? Can Walt convince Dakota that happily-ever- after's really do exist? NOT QUIE FOREVER caught my attention from the very first scene and I stayed enthralled throughout the entire book. The book was so descriptive that I felt as if I were visiting two old friends and catching up on their lives. I loved the behind the scenes peek into an author's life. I loved learning more about what it might be like for a physician responding in a natural disaster. I loved watching two workaholic people learn that there is more to life than just working. While NOT QUITE FOREVER is the fourth book in the Not Quite series it can easily be read as a stand-alone. However there are quite a few cameo appearances by characters from the first three books. It was wonderful to catch up with "old friends" and learn what they have been doing. I love Ms. Bybee's effortless writing style and highly recommend this, and all of her other books, to those looking for a fun and fast read.

SUMMARY

The touching and heartwarming fourth novel in the wildly popular Not Quite series from New York Times bestselling author Catherine Bybee. Romance author Dakota Laurens believes that happily-ever-afters exist only between the covers of her sexy novels. But to her surprise, she finds a real-life hero when she meets a handsome emergency room doctor. The outspoken author feels an instant and intense attraction to Dr. Walt Eddy, and the feeling is mutual. When the globetrotting doctor pulls a disappearing act on Dakota, she’s prepared to write him off…until fate brings a blindsiding twist to her story. Still scarred from a past tragedy, Walt may have disappeared on Dakota, but now he’s determined to win her back. For the first time in years, he knows he’s ready for a new chance at love. Yet between Dakota’s doubts and two sets of meddling parents, can the once-blissful couple finally create the bright, loving future they desperately want?
