Romance Contemporary

THROWN FOR A CURVE is Book two in Sugar Jamison's Perfect Fit series. After reading the previous book, I was looking forward to reading about a romance between Colin O'Connell and Cherri Rudy. Colin and Cherri are physically attracted to each other but there are a few obstacles to finding happiness together.

At first, Colin is worried about the age difference. He is twelve years older than her. She's also the best friend of his buddy's wife and that makes him cautious as well. I was so happy when the two finally did get together.

One thing I really like about THROWN FOR A CURVE is that it really shows how their relationship evolves. They start out as friends, then become intimate, and then finally have a more committed relationship.

Colin is a dream -- super sexy and a sweetheart. Even though he has some feelings of insecurity because of how his ex- girlfriend treated him, he always treats Cherri with respect. He is willing to do whatever it takes to make Cherri feel happy and fulfilled, even if it means not getting the outcome he wants.

I love how supportive he is with Cherri when she has to deal with all the health problems her grandmother has. I had a lot of sympathy for what she went through, but I think that Colin put a little more work into making the relationship.

The combination of sexy and caring makes Colin one of my favorite heroes from a contemporary romance. Their love story really drew me in and was very powerful. The chemistry between Cherri and Colin sizzles and makes for some very romantic and hot scenes.

The supporting characters in this story really add to the overall story and are very three-dimensional. The relationship between Mike and Colin, Colin and his father, and Cherri and her grandmother are extremely textured and feel very real. Baba's dog Rufus creates some light moments amidst all the drama.

I liked how the things got resolved by the end of THROWN FOR A CURVE. I look forward to reading the next story in this series and see how things work out for Cherri's friend Belinda.

SUMMARY

WHEN YOU’RE A big girl Cherri has often wished she were thin and graceful like a ballerina instead of being a six-foot-tall blonde with curves that require serious caution. Surely a charming Irishman like her new boss Colin, with his throaty brogue and to-die-for bod, would never go for someone like Cherri. Unless maybe he’s looking for the exact opposite of a delicate lass? there’s more of you to love When Colin hired Cherri to work in his furniture-restoration shop, he had his eyes, first and foremost, on her artistic talents. But now he can’t help but see Cherri for the lush, spirited beauty that she is…and, soon enough, he finds himself mixing business with pleasure. But Cherri turns out to be more vulnerable than she appears. Is she in need of more than Colin can give? Or could it be that a feeling stronger than lust has him thrown for a curve?
