REVEALING US is not a particularly eventful book; but it does manage to tie up most of the loose ends of the series to date. The story is well written and engaging; also taking a stab at a bit of suspense. The story picks up right where Being Me left off; with Sara having to make the decision whether to go to Paris with Chris. She goes, of course; and the book takes on the tone of a honeymoon, at least in the beginning. It's not long before Chris' past reaches out to slap Sara a few times. Sara keeps running into bitchy women who have an S/M past with Chris, want him back, and who smugly decide that Sara can never hold him or give him what he 'needs'. Chris has promised Sara that he has left the BDSM lifestyle behind, doesn't need the pain anymore, and only needs her to make him complete. The reader learns Chris' big, dark, secret past that made him the way he is; and why he is so into pain. There is a lot of angst and drama in this story, sometimes to the expense of the plot and suspense.
The identity of Rebecca's master has become known, no surprises there; and the mystery of what happened to Rebecca solved. This time around, Sara turns her energies towards finding her long missing friend Ella. In between cat-fights with Chris' former lovers, and Chris fishing her out of one kind of trouble or another, Sara finds that Ella and her doctor fiancΓ© never married. With the help of the private investigator, they discover that Ella left the doctor after a fight; and then disappeared after a short liaison with a rich playboy, who is of course, a practitioner of the 'lifestyle'.
These stories from author Lisa Renee Jones are no longer a trilogy, but have now become a series known as the Inside Out series. The good news is that Chris and Sara's story has wrapped up in a satisfactory manner. The cliffhanger at the end is about Ella and her problems. Ella is now on the run from an unknown danger and the person menacing her. The next book will pick up with her and the perils that threaten her. If you enjoy reading the series and the writing style of Lisa Renee Jones; you will enjoy this one. REVEALING US has all of the trademark plot mechanics that faithful readers of the series have come to expect and enjoy.
