At the end of the Civil War an accident leaves a woman without a memory. An order of nuns take her in, and she is given the name Mercy for the mercy medallion found around her neck. Mercy wants to remember her past more than anything, but when she meets a handsome railroad heir she decides to concentrate on the future. Mercy is finally happy when a dashing soldier claims to know some of her history, and that history could destroy all Mercy holds dear.

TRACES OF MERCY is an inspirational romance with a heartwarming theme. Michael Landon JR. and Cindy Kelley create a story around finding and having faith in oneself. Mercy's story is compelling, and readers will like her gumption and fortitude. She has no back - story which makes for a unique storyline. Landon and Kelley use multiple plot twists to keep TRACES OF MERCY exciting and surprising. The setting is inventive and helps with the mystery of Mercy's past. The Little Sisters of Hope are a great group of characters who bring out the best and worst in Mercy's personality, making her personable and likable. The climax is surprisingly thrilling, and the cliffhanger at the end will have readers wanting more. TRACES OF MERCY is an inspiring story with great characters and a touching theme.
