STEALING HARPER by Molly McAdams is the second book in her Taking Chances series.  I was torn about reading it since  I read Taking Chances and knew what to expect in the end.  It is heart shattering but how could I resist Chase and Brandon once again?This story is told in Chase's point of view.  Chase is the kind of guy who you would call a player.  He doesn't do relationships and the only thing that matters to him is getting what he wants from a girl and sending her on her way.  He fell for Harper from the minute he met her and it bothers him since this is not the norm for him.  What is wrong with him? How is this girl getting under his skin? He tries to fight his feelings for her, but the pull she has on him is insane.  He knows he isn't good enough for her but he doesn't want her with anyone else either.

Chase backs off from Harper and one of his best friends Brandon starts to go out with her.  This kills Chase but he knows Brandon is the better man and just keeps running from his feelings.  Seeing the two of them together breaks his heart and still he runs.  He tries to ignore Harper and she hates this.  It makes her crazy and she can't stay away from him.  It's killing her that he won't talk to her.  She tries to move on with Brandon but it hurts her every day that Chase keeps running away from her.  She is falling in love with both of them and can't stop it even though she knows it's wrong to have feelings for Chase while being with Brandon.  One day she gives in to those feelings and their lives will never be the same.

Chase knows what he is doing is wrong but he just can't let her go.  She is his everything even though she is with Brandon.  Brandon asks him time and time again if he has feelings for Harper and he keeps denying it.   His friends yell at him to let her go, let her be happy and he just can't do it.   After Harper and Chase get together she goes back to Brandon.  Soon after, she knows she can't fight her feelings for Chase anymore, she breaks up with Brandon and goes to Chase.  Then the evil Trisha shows up and ruins everything.  This will just break your heart.  Keep the tissues close by as you will NOT be able to stop!

STEALING HARPER just about killed me. Why and how did Molly McAdams break my heart all over again?  I barely got through what happened to Chase in Taking Chances and then to read it from his point of view in STEALING HARPER? Heartbreaking and impossible to walk away from.   I will keep all of these people in my heart for a long time to come.   I've never had a book effect me or stay with me like these two have.  I'm glad Molly wrote this one even if she broke our hearts all over again. As readers we all need the closure this book will bring us.
