Alex is a married woman with one child. She is addicted to the Veronica Becker talk show and enters her contest every day. What a shock when her name is announced as the winner of a trip to New York and a ticket to Veronica's show.
Alex would love for her husband to accompany her, but Josh is swamped at work and can't get the time off. Alex decides to take the trip alone. While being in the audience of the show she realizes that her favorite actor Derek Dunbar will be on the show. One of the perks of winning this contest is that she gets to meet Derek. The connection with them is more than either one would have imaged. Derek asks her out for dinner and their romance begins and they spend the night together. But Alex returns to her married life. Her life continues as it was before: work, house, husband and her child. For the next three years on the same day she was with Derek she receives text messages from him.
Tragedy strikes Alex and Josh as they are driving home and are hit by a drunk driver. Josh is killed and Alex ends up in a coma. When Alex wakes up, Derek is by her side as the authorities thought he was a relative based on their text messages she saved on her mobile phone.
After the funeral, Derek stays in touch with Alex and heβs shocked he has such strong feelings that he cant bring himself to express so they call it quits. But fate intervenes again when Derek's next movie takes him to Kuwait where he and the film crew are taken hostage. After two tragic interruptions itβs time for this couple to decide if they really can find happiness the second time around.

THE CHARACTERS
Alexandra Daniels spent half her life as a dedicated wife and mother. Recently, with her husband working so much he spent little time with her and her daughter all grown up, Alex finally decided to concentrate on herself. She got a gym membership, lost weight, and spent her free time at night catching up on years of movies she missed. To add to her newly found identity, Alex wins a trip to New York to see her favorite talk show taped. While there she meets her movie idle, Derek Dunbar. Can life get any better?
Derek Dunbar went to school to be a lawyer, something his mother loved to brag about. But Derek felt he had another calling: acting. Once he submerged himself into his new career he was destined for stardom...and loneliness. Oh, Derek had the looks, but his work–a–holic mentality made dating difficult, not to mention the paparazzi that followed him everywhere.
