Mystery Cozy

Story Fischer and her hunky cop boyfriend, Hunter are shacking up together in Story's house. It makes sense considering it is much easier to move Hunter and his police dog Ben than to convince Story's hives to move. Three days into their new lifestyle things become a bit complicated. You see the problems all start when Story's spoiled yet beloved sister Holly needs Story to save her bacon, again. Holly's multimillionaire husband, Max has invited a few colleagues home for the weekend. Flavorists who rub along together like a cats in a hot tub, they need feeding and entertaining, and Story is thrust first in line to handle the details. Good thing they have a passing interest in bees. During their tour of Story's skeps and honey house, one of Max's employees winds up face first dead in the river and Story finds herself and her family heading up the suspect lineup. That would be enough to give pause to any boyfriend, let alone one representing the law. Then things take turn for the worse when Story's mother and HER boyfriend decide to look into renting the house next door. It just may be too much for Hunter and Story's relationship to weather, this time. Book four in Hannah Reed's cute and cozy Queen Bee Mystery series, BEELINE TO TROUBLE revisits the likeable supporting cast of Moraine, Wisconsin. Secrets in the past of characters long-time readers have come to know play a large part in the well-crafted mystery. As usual, Reed weaves the difficult yet amusing dysfunctions of Story's family into her just-intricate-enough plot, keeping her readers well-entertained and satisfied.

SUMMARY

Folks in Moraine, Wisconsin, are buzzing about the latest swarm of trouble humming around Story Fischer… It’s a real buzz-kill when beekeeper Story Fischer gets a visit from her frantic sister. Now she has to help host a combative trio of professional food flavorists. Good thing the well-stocked shelves of Story’s grocery store, the Wild Clover, can provide the morning meal. During a pre-lunch tour of Story’s hives, however, one of the guests is found dead. Just what Story needs only days after hunky boyfriend, Hunter Wallace, finally decided to move in. As if a dead body isn’t enough to put a damper on romance, Story becomes a prime suspect when the carrot juice she brought with the breakfast fixings is found to contain poison. Now it’s up to Story to comb through the evidence and find the real perpetrator before she ends up getting stung herself...
