Being robbed by a woman was a terrible thing, but for Cameron MacKenzie being robbed by the same woman twice is simply unforgettable. Cam has never forgotten the chit who he found in his bedroom six years ago, nor has he forgotten the heat of her kiss. To find Ms. Douglas in his rooms again is an opportunity that Cam cannot resist.
On a mission from the Queen, Ainsley has been sent to retrieve some scandalous letters at all costs. When the costs appear to be coming in the form of the dangerously attractive attentions of Cameron MacKenzie, Ainsley knows that she may be in over her head this time. One run in with the seductive man was enough to lead her into temptation, but to have him appear again, set on seducing her again is too much to handle. What began as a simple game has become the most complex experience of Cam's life. Haunted by past memories that threaten to drown the happiness he has found with Ainsley, Cam is afraid that he will never truly know what it is to love again. Can Ainsley heal the scars on his heart and can Cam find a way out of the darkness and into the light that has become Ainsley?
I absolutely loved reading Cam's story. I found him even more delectable than his brother, which surprised me. Where Ian's story was covered in shadows, I found Cam's as much heart wrenching as it was fun. THE MANY SINS OF LORD CAMERON is the third in this remarkable series by Jennifer Ashley about the MacKenzie brothers. We were first introduced to Cameron in The Madness of Lord Ian MacKenzie and I was very happy to see this carefree brother come to life in this book. Cameron has always been portrayed as a carefree father and horseman, yet in this book he leaped off the pages and landed straight into my heart. His tale was an emotional rollercoaster. I laughed, I cried, and I fell in love with Cameron right alongside Ainsley. The plot involving the role of Ainsley as a Queen's lady and spy was remarkable. The danger, intrigue, and greed that was uncovered by Ainsley and Cameron was not surprising as much as it was believable. The story kept moving from page one and held me captivated until the end. Ainsley was a delight and definitely a match for Cameron. She was strong, courageous, and had a heart that never ended. To find a man and fall in love with not only him, but his son and family as well is something that every woman hopes for. The bumps and ruts in the road along the way are what kept the story interesting. I enjoyed watching these two continually struggled with themselves and their dreams as they made their way to love.
A stunning third book in the series, THE MANY SINS OF LORD CAMERON was a fantastic read. I most especially look forward to reading about Hart, the last MacKenzie brother, and how he stumbles and falls his way to happiness.
