Romance Contemporary

SLOW DANCING ON PRICE'S PIER is the most recent title from author Lisa Dale. I have to be honest and say that when I read It Happened One Night I wasn't really that impressed. However, I like to give an author another try.

SLOW DANCING ON PRICE'S PIER is Ms. Dale's first foray into trade paperback. It's a story of love, but not necessarily the love of a man for a woman, but rather the love of a woman for not only her family, but her business, her extended family, her customers, and yes one man in particular.

Thea is at a major turning point in her life as the story opens. She and her husband are divorcing, but hope to remain friends. They have a daughter, Irinia, who they really only want the best for. But as the story evolves, so does their relationship. Whether or not they will be able to remain friends and parent their daughter will remain to be seen.

As Thea struggles to move on after the divorce she attempts to listen to her fiends and try new things, as Jonathan has. However, for Thea this is not so simple and one of the greatest complications in her being able to move on turns out to be somewhat of a surprise, and for me to tell you here would be a spoiler.

It takes a major event in Thea's life for her future to finally become clear to her, and as the book ends one gets the feeling that Thea, Jonathan, and Irina will finally be able to move into a smooth future.

SLOW DANCING ON PRICE'S PIER was for me a slow read. I will admit that there were events in my life that effected my wanting to read, but I can't help but wonder if it were a more fast paced story would I have been turning to my book for escape. I truly don't know, but I will give Ms. Dale one more chance because of those life events.

SUMMARY

A family learns that time can erase mistakes when the heart remains true- from a refreshing new storyteller.

Fifteen years ago, Garret Sorensen's family, trust, and heart were destroyed when Thea Celik betrayed him and married his brother. Now they are divorcing. Garret's ready to finally mend his relationship with his brother. But being back in Newport, Rhode Island, triggers a lot of memories-all leading back to Thea.

Thea's not ready to let go of the Sorensens-even if it means being around Garret. As they cautiously circle around each other-finding themselves drawn together-they realize following their hearts could cast them adrift.
