BABY BY SURPRISE begins with Francesca, six months pregnant,
having gestational diabetes and passing out while driving.
She broke her arm during the accident and decides to call
the baby's father, Grady, to let him know she had the
medical condition, and Grady arrives to take her to his
home from the hospital and take care of her while her arm
is out of commission. Francesca is a neonatologist and has
to take a few days off to give her arm time to heal and
feels she's imposing on Grady, but, she really has no
choice. Francesca came from an abusive family, and has
never seen a loving family in action, and is distrustful of
Grady and his family at first, but staying in his house,
seeing how he lives and how his family gathers around, she
allows the feelings she had when she met him to kindle into
a flame and begins to see that he is a good man.
This book
warms the heart with the caring of Grady's family, and his
concern and growing love for Francesca and their soon-to-be-
born son. The author has done a terriffic job with this
one and I recommend it highly.
