Professor Peyton Cache wants to set a good impression with his new colleagues when he hosts the faculty dinner at his house in a couple of weeks. Unfortunately, when he bought the old Victorian house, it came with an unwanted houseguest, a guest of the spectral variety. He hires someone to come and rid his home of his own personal ghost so that nothing embarrassing will happen in front of his guests. When a beautiful woman shows up at his door claiming to be the ghost buster, he just hopes that she can take care of his problem rather quickly. Otherwise, how long can he endure having her under his roof? Is it wrong for him to wish that they were sharing a room?
Kaci Melton will do anything for her father, her only family. She will even take one of his ghost hunting jobs to help him pay off some extra debts. She has followed him around since she was little, and knows all the in and outs of capturing ghosts. She just has one small problem -- she is afraid of ghosts. However, she does not let that stop her from being a loyal daughter to her father. When she shows up at the professor's house, she expects a boring old guy, not the sexy man that answers the door. How will she ever be able to capture the ghost without letting him know her secret fear? How will she be able to keep her hands to herself?
Karen Kelley has written a delightfully fun paranormal romance. Peyton and Kaci may fight their attraction and have a few trust issues, but when they let go, there is definite combustion. Of course, there is the ghost to catch, and one who seems to choose sides. The spectral's antics only add to the frivolity of this fantastic tale. Ms. Kelley has a wonderful writing style, and her story is lavishly sprinkled with humor. MY FAVORITE PHANTOM grips you from the beginning taking you on a fast, sensual ride that will continue to haunt you long after the story ends. I enjoyed this ghost busting adventure immensely.
